Never use povidone-iodine prep pads near something you don’t want to stain. Just don’t. I have learned my lesson!

@Gordo band-wise? What do you play
I play Trombone, or baritone, since most marching bands are slowly phasing out bones.
  • NeoconTue Jun 01, 2021 6:39 am
@Bear My first thought was that obviously iodine is going to stain everything it touches, but I haven't seen iodine used since about 30 years ago when my grandma pulled out a bottle when I skinned my knee.
  • BearTue Jun 01, 2021 10:45 am
Interesting. I have iodine prep pads in a few of my first aid kits and hadn’t opened one up before so I decided to see what they’re like. They’re messy but they do have their uses

Crud… don’t know why it did that. Anyway, I was going to say this: I’m a trumpet guy, and I had no idea bones were being done away with. I think if I had to pick something other than trumpet it would be the trombone

There are just limitations to the bone, that aren't there with mellophone/baritone, however I prefer the bone. I rarely ever get put my mellophone, but here's a good example of some advantages of mellophone: https://youtu.be/7M-ilBUqGow?t=122

My server is down. My internet has been running very slow this week and tonight it decided to drop down to a trickle.
  • NeoconSat Jun 05, 2021 12:39 am
And...a router reset later and maybe it is ok, now?
  • decaff_42Sat Jun 05, 2021 12:40 am
    I'm connecting now
  • decaff_42Sat Jun 05, 2021 12:40 am
So better than the "not connecting" that it was earlier

I'm trying to decide whether I should get a ($130) Samsung 870 EVO SATA 1TB drive to replace my 860 500GB boot drive, or either a ($200) 870 QVO 2TB drive or ($213) Crucial 2TB drive to add more space for games. Logic says just get a ($90) Seagate 4TB hard drive for a game drive, but I hate the sound of mechanical drives and know it would slow loading time for the games. What a problem to have. :ugeek:
  • NeoconSat Jun 05, 2021 5:30 am
I'm starting to think the problem with my internet is a loose connection in my phone jack. I wiggled the line and the internet went out, then came back on at normal speed.

I settled on the Samsung 870 QVO 2TB. Not as fast as the Crucial SSD, but about $35 cheaper after tax. I think it will be fine as a Steam game drive. YSCAS and my YSF folders will stay on my 500GB 860 Evo boot drive, and my other games will stay on my 1TB Adata SU800. I remember my first hard drive, back in 2001, was 18 GB.
  • NeoconWed Jun 16, 2021 3:48 am
Oh, and for those who haven't noticed, YSCAS is running on OpenYS every day except Fridays because it uses less of my computer's resources than the stock console server.

Would be there online server(s) for YSFlight version 20181124? (Because latest version of YSFlight for Linux is really much better than version 20150425 for Linux).
  • NeoconWed Jun 16, 2021 5:39 am
OpenYS works with the 2018 version of YSF on Windows, so YSCAS should work every day except Fridays, I think?

Could be those notes added on "VioletWorld" server page on Server List? Also it would be useful to include notes on "YSCAS" server page too: "Except Friday, all YSFlight versions could connect. On Friday only YSFlight version 20150425 is allowed to connect"
  • waspe41426 minutes ago
I don't think we can add it to the serverlist page, though I did update the topic
  • waspe41426 minutes ago
The page is a fixed form

I just guess, does "Violet World" on port 7915 and on port 7914 are two separate servers or users from both ports connected plays together?
  • waspe4143 minutes ago
    They are independent
