So it turns out YSFlight replies to every flight data packet, with the flight data packet.
  • FlakeSun Jun 03, 2018 7:28 am
Like... TCP already does a full reply in and of itself, which is bad enough.
  • FlakeSun Jun 03, 2018 7:28 am
Why the hell did Soji think this is a good idea?

Data load on clients is twice as high as it needs to be, and servers are lagged down as a consequence.

If only there was someone out there that was good at NetCode and could fix this sort of thing.
  • FlakeSun Jun 03, 2018 7:29 am
In summary, compared to UDP, YSF uses 4 times the bandwidth.

    Not including TCP headers.

it's like how soji thinks praying the bugs away and adding unnecessary features is a good idea
  • DoomsdaySun Jun 03, 2018 2:00 pm
    1 Prayer = 1 bug removal 1 share = fixed game

I did a test recording today with OBS and I was able to record a flight at 60 fps. I've had a YS video idea for a while, and it looks like I can finally try it out. :)

I'm pretty certain stock Aomori map on 04252015 vers. doesn't allow flying/driv thru quick alert hangers compared to 2005 vers. I had. Speaking from memory.

I haven't checked other stock maps.

Does any one know, what limitations exist when referencing an external .srf file in a .dnm file? Can the .srf files be at a higher folder level than the .dnm file?

I am pretty sure you can use the exact address within the ysflight folder. I'm thinking I saw that somewhere, possibly GAC.
