Missing man formation in YSFlight

A neighbor of mine passed away two days ago, May 12. He had fallen down in his house and had to be rushed to the hospital; last I saw of him was in an ambulance, where I waved at him and he waved back. A month or so later, complications arose and... well, he passed on. I didn't think this would ever...

20th Birthday/Anniversary of YSFlight

We've found a kind of paradise In a flowers bloom. We've seen the end of a mystic land So close it meets the parting sun. We've shared the thoughts that two could share, We feel the truth, magic that we send... Searching for something new Isle of Gold in flowers' bloom... We've heard a kind of parad...

AM3 forum is trash

My "I just noticed this..." thread is now past the gravedigging time limit, so I have to make a new thread for this. Airline Manager 3's forum is pure garbage. I made a post on a thread by this player, Chieftain Airlines, about just how bad this issue is, and responded in a frank manner, y...

Re: This new livery is underwhelming.

The old one looks like something I would carve into a plane in gepolyx. The new one looks like something made in Blender. I'm not seeing any reason for them to feel shame. Both look bad. The livery before both of them is the one I like best. What I'm saying is that Aer Lingus should at least try to...

This new livery is underwhelming.

I just had to post this, especially considering that no one else on this forum's discussing this. The new Aer Lingus livery is...kind of empty. There's worse out there, though. Source: http://www.askthepilot.com/aer-lingus-livery/ , because I couldn't find the livery anywhere else. The article isn't...

Re: Your favorite engine

PT6C, the quality of that is unrivaled. In work at never seemed to have issues with them on 139s Are you a helicopter pilot IRL? Just asking. The PT6C and PT6A are pretty much the same engine, differing only in purposes. The -C is a turboshaft, the -A is a turboprop. The Brits have a weird way of n...

Your favorite engine

What's your favourite engine? For me: 1. RB211 turbofan- Used on L-1011, 'nuff said. 2. PT6A turboprop- Very good design, starts easily in adverse conditions (not possible with TPE331, or in fact many single-shaft engines), extremely reliable. 3. GEnx turbofan- Used on the 787, gave new life to the ...

Re: B747 or A380?

OP: The GP7000 turbofan looks like an enlarged JT8D to me. Engine discussion going on: Also, manufacturers should really start making planes with the Allison T56 again, the civil variant (501). Turbofans have too much dominance nowadays, and the PW100 series has nothing on the T56, and neither does ...

OP: The 747 will never die, while the A380 will likely be axed by Airbus within the next decade.

Re: B747 or A380?

Right, I never said they're still being manufactured. I just said I flew in a 744 equipped with them ;) Still, plenty of RB 211-equipped aircraft flying around (BA 744s, AA 757s among others). While I do share your passion for older engine types, efficiency is king these days. The JT9D was a great ...

Re: B747 or A380?

Off topic, but the RB-211 isn't manufactured anymore. That kinda died with the 747-400. Neither is the JT9D. P&W should really bring back the JT9D, never mind the PW series. Right, I never said they're still being manufactured. I just said I flew in a 744 equipped with them ;) Still, plenty of ...

Re: B747 or A380?

In my opinion, they're all just big ugly flying cylinders. Hasn't been an elegant airliner since the Conny went out of service ;) Nostalgic much? The only ugly planes are Airbuses. Airbus can never seem to get aesthetic stuff right ever since the A310 was released and the Cold War ended. In the wor...

Re: B747 or A380?

Personally I'm partial to the 747, but I'm torn between the 744 and 748 Go 748! I never REALLY liked the 744, although I do like all 747 versions. 748 is modern, too, and has more modern engines, compared to the A380's ancient looking engines. Is there any debate? One is one of the most successful ...

Re: How was Christmas?

My Christmas was more Mas than Christ, and that's the way I love it. I worked the morning shift, then had lunch with the family. A time was had. It was a day that existed. Seems like a time you had. For me, I especially like how I mess up far more often when typing on my phone ever since I updated ...

How was Christmas?

How was 12/25 for you? It went well for me; I ate like a king yesterday, and today I got a hard drive and a Thrustmaster joystick and throttle.

How was yours, and what did you get?
