Re: A Quick Note About The HAVA Map Release

Extra special thanks, man :)
You see, my boss's net access doesn't allow social networks and I can't seem to be able to open my own account at 4shared (maybe due to the previously mentioned).

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

Sorry for reviving an old thread even more so because I haven't posted for more than one year. It just happens that my baby daughter was born in July 2011 and I haven't had much time to have fun only on my own. Now that summer vacations are here I thought that I could take the rusty 5-year-old lapto...

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

That's what I thought.
At least that's what I've been doing when I setup strong crosswinds.
Cheers

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

Strange...
So what do you do when you want to take off/land with 50kt crosswinds?
I got used to the rudder from my use of FG and now I just can't live without it.

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

My ignorance kills me LOL.
I'll see if I can find it cheap on amazon or similar.
Sorry about the confusion ;).

Re: Weird issues with sound

@Phoenix
Do you mean that you have this issue only in Linux and Wine?
Have you got a Microsoft computer to test this? I can only test this in a week.
Would it be a Linux issue or a YSF issue?
Is there anywhere where I can log a bug or something?
Cheers

Re: Weird issues with sound

How weird. I just booted into Windows 7 (dual boot with Puppy), watched the video and I can still hear a very weird noise. Could it be that the "weird" noise that I'm talking about is actually the proper and intended engine sound? Like an echoing sound similar to what you can hear in a power plant. ...

Weird issues with sound

When I run latest YFS on my computer (Puppy Linux 5.2.5 - Ubuntu-based) I get some strange stuttering noise instead of engine sound. Then if I pull up the landing gear or if I use my flaps, I loose engine sound and I keep hearing the sound from gear/flaps. To properly illustrate my issue, please wat...

Re: Is there a world map?

No, there isn't any. Scenery creation is up to users and the bigger the map, the bigger the deal! Bummer :( There are big maps that you can fly in 3 hours with a Cessna, like the new Hawaii... New Hawaii? Meaning a different Hawaii from the one that comes bundled with YFS? Well there has been a num...

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

@Gunny, De nada :). @DavideV Well, I do know what a rudder is for. Use it all the time when landing to properly align my plane with the lane that I'm using. Wish I had a yoke with a rudder... Maybe one day I can buy a yoke. For now I have to stick with using keyboard. There's an interesting DIY yoke...

Is there a world map?

Greetings. Coming from "Flightgear" (as said in my introduction) I guess it is normal that I try to learn YFS while comparing it to FG. One thing that still puzzles me is the apparent lack of a worldmap (that is, a world scenery). How can I fly from airport A to airport B in YFS? I can't? If so, doe...

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

It totally is for me too... I'm pushing the Virtual Airline I'm in to let things be done a little more "professionally" and I'm sure that you, as an old FG flyer, could do the thing very well. Hi DavideV, Please note that I'm only a long time "on and off" player of FG. But that doesn't mean that I'...

Re: Hello YSFHQ :)

I wouldn't mind being the eldest around but it is reassuring to know that there are more old-school guys out there when I'm flying ;).
Many thanks for the warm welcoming :P.

Hello YSFHQ :)

Hi there! I'm 37 years old, I'm from Portugal and I love simulation games. I've been an "on-and-off" reasonably happy user of FlightGear for around 5 years now. My main PC fried and my laptop can't run FG properly (less than 10fps...). I was told about YFS and I'm very well impressed with what I've ...
