Re: [PROGRAM] OpenYS - Open Source YSFlight Server!

I'm pretty sure you can set a sequence that will change the map and restart the server. I don't remember if you could have it do that repeatedly or not.

Re: Minecraft

This is a very old thread, I didn't know Minecraft existed 9 years ago. In case anybody wondered what I have been up to, I wanted to show off my attempt at an air strip beside the sand mine in my Minecraft survival world. The runway is 500m x 30m. I was going to make it 2000m long, until I realized ...

Re: Ground Object HTRADIUS

I think the HTRADIUS only sets the size of the explosion upon destruction, doesn't it? The collision .srf file provides the basic 3d shape of the object to determine if it is being hit. Take the estimated radius of the object, I think. I don't know this for sure, it's been a few years since I worked...

Tennessee did NOT ban chemtrails.

The BBC headline puts "chemtrail" in quotes because the law, which is now in effect, does not actually ban chemtrails. The law bans cloud seeding, and only for the purpose of geoengineering. I'm looking forward to seeing case law about localized cloud seeding, although as a native of the ...

Re: how to make mods for game

To make a map, you will have to learn how to use scenery editor. The 2009 version is the best version for basic maps that are compatible with all versions of YSF since 2009. Newer versions have better options for use in newer versions of YSF. Making maps is pretty easy. Making good maps takes some t...

Re: entire world map?

It would absolutely be possible. I am, in fact, hoping to eventually create the entire world 1:1 in YSF. I had originally hoped to complete the task by 2030, but it is temporarily on hold. I figure I'm at least 1/4 of the way there now. Realistically, however, such a map will not run very well on a ...

Re: Two Questions

Imagine squads of TIE Interceptors and X-Wings with stock F-16 .dats (other than relocating weapon, cockpit, and landing gear points). Now imagine them all fighting over the Rebel base on Hoth.

Can I get one of each in the USAF Thunderbirds livery?

Tail strike while flying a 747 inverted under a red bridge in Honolulu on the stock Hawaii map should probably be high on the list.

Re: Aircraft you spotted today

Apparently there is a cargo airline called Ukraine Air Alliance that has a single aircraft, an An-12. I didn't actually see it, but we heard a low hum of an airplane that sounded like it had multiple prop engines. It's dark, and I couldn't see it from my window, but I heard it. I checked FlightAware...

I was just driving by UCY with my parents and saw a small plane flying (couldnt tell what exactly) straight up, then it came back down and then did some loops. My mom said it must be a student just learning to fly.

Re: Weather in your area 2022

It came a flood here in NWTN this morning. A literal flood. Water was up everywhere, but not across the main roads. It was raining hard and fast, though, so traffic was moving slow (when it was behind me, at least, cause I drove slow).

EDIT from the next day: Currently freezing rain and sleet.

Re: Weather in your area 2022

We also had mid-60s on Tuesday and 50s into Wednesday. Starting during the night, it got colder (low 30s) and started raining ice this morning, which has coated everything as the temperature has dropped into the 20s. The result is widespread power outages ranging from an hour at my house to several ...

Re: Do I HAVE to use Blender to model/paint aircraft?

I've painted models and made new models and have never used Blender except for a couple of times when I exported models. I have always used the Legacy tools , along with Windows Notepad. These are all tools that are over a decade old at the newest, and they run fine on a core2duo with integrated gra...

Re: Weather in your area 2022

Been off school 3 days this week (M,T,F) for snow. We got 4-5 inches of snow Sunday night into Monday, and an additional 3 or so Thursday night/Friday morning. We got about that much snow here in NWTN starting Thursday morning, and it snowed most of the day Thursday. It stayed well below freezing u...

Weather in your area 2022

New Year, new weather Last week the temperatures in NWTN were warm, in the 60s-70s F by the end of the week. A mess of strong storms passed through late Friday night. My new weather alert radio announced a suspected tornado passing north of town, but I am pretty sure it remained a funnel cloud and d...
