Re: Tim Clark wants windowless planes

I can see the next step now. The plane is crashing and the passengers are seeing a recording of a smooth flight because that's cheaper than providing a live image.

Re: Weather In Your Area 2018

We've had a lot of sunshine and temps in the 80s here in West TN, but a cool breeze from the north is making it tolerable. I've been doing a lot of garden work (which is slowing down progress on other projects right now). It doesn't look like it will rain until the weekend, and that seems to be a sm...

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

That's strange, because a photo was leaked to the media from the Nevada desert of this aircraft leaving the PMNV hangar at the Groom Lake Facility.

That has to be one of the best looking cities in YSF.

Re: New things from Soji

@u2fly Well, of course. I didn't think of that. Well, then, that explains that. Actually, I like that because now I can set F8 as tower view and F9 to switch between aircraft targets in tower view, which I think was how it was in the good old days. @Turbofan Frame rates are horrible for me in the st...

Re: New things from Soji

I just checked, and in the current test version, F6 is ILS, F7 and F8 work as they have, and F9 is tower view. In other words, we're back to the old-style assignments with split ILS and Tower. The Captain did good on that one. :) EDIT: Also F7/F8 cycle between the two styles of exterior view, making...

Re: New things from Soji

F6 and F8? Why not F6 and F9? F7 and F8 have recently been different outside view settings (fixed heading relative to the map vs fixed relative to the plane). Will we lose one of those to regain what was F9? Will we be able to reassign tower view to F9 and restore F6/7/8/9 to proper views? EDIT: If ...

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

On #FridayNightFlights, Welshy was doing ATC, and I asked a simple question. Then Decaff sent a message, and it went right over my head.

Re: Thought of the day.

I had an argument with an aquarium fish expert (no quotes, he was a real expert) who was convinced that a fish cannot see what is outside the glass aquarium because, from inside the water, the glass is a mirror. I, on the other hand, with no evidence or understanding of the situation of any kind, ar...

Re: Staff Elections: Semester 1, 2018

So, no turnover at all this election? It's almost as if those who are in power found "ways" to maintain that power. It's completely impossible that they won fair and square because the last six months have been six of the least-dramatic months ever to happen within the English YSF community. [/s] :l...

I'm thinking about making a video tutorial with some non-standard addons and show how to make them work on Windows.

Re: Nominations - Modding [Closes 03 April]

We already have three solid choices, and I've said up until now that I didn't plan to run again, but I was just thinking about how little modding I've done in the last six months and concluded that I need to get back to it. So, vote for me, and I'll make a map or something. If you don't vote for me,...

I just got back from the basement shooting range (irl, it's a 60 mile drive each way). I tried out my new Dixie Gun Works Uberti 1873 Cattleman .45 Colt revolver with 100 rounds of cowboy action ammo. When the gun-slinging robots return from Westworld, I'll be ready.

Re: Need tech help: Port Forwarding trouble

I still haven't quite given up on this. I have been trying new things. I got rid of Avast, for several reasons, so I'm now just working with Windows Defender. I forwarded port 7920 (just to test a different port). When i use an Open Port Check Tool, it times out. Just as a test, I turned the Windows...
