Re: Favourite airplane

My favorite airplane is the F-14 Tomcat, particularly those with F-110 engines. I'll not pretend that it was the best of all time, but that doesn't really matter.

Re: Staff Elections: Semester 2, 2018 [MODDING THREAD]

I've been around since 2006, and I've got a fair few aircraft mods, both released and unreleased, under my belt. New planes, maps, and miscellaneous stuff for YS are always a good thing, and I'm eager to encourage and support any mod developers in their efforts. Never been able to get into blender, ...

Re: Tim Clark wants windowless planes

Re: [COMPETITION] Maritime Patrol Aircraft

I've gotta say, this result was a little unexpected. I've been following everyone's entries closely, and both pleased and impressed with the attention to detail everyone put into their entries. I'm very eager to use all of them in the near future. This contest has been inspirational, encouraging man...

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

Some F-14's out there have the oversweep position mapped to the bomb bay key for parking - this is the Tomcat equivalent to folding wings. This is meant to sweep the wings a little past their full rear sweep angle when on the ground, and is programmed to work on wings that are fully swept (because y...

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

Got a quick screen of the new F-15J on one of the old WW3 maps. Very impressive, no performance loss (your mileage may vary). Interestingly, it has no HUD or instruments by default - clearly a photo bird.

Re: Question: Advantages of Joystick over Mouse/Trackpad?

As a long time joystick user, I largely agree with what folks have been saying so far. Joysticks are great if you want to invest a little in your experience, or would like to try other flight games. Keyboard and mouse will give you everything you need and most of what you want for a very reasonable ...
