Re: First kills (against AI)

YS is cute in that, if your opponent is a good gun fighter, missiles will be more or less useless. That being said, shots from head on just as you pass your enemy can be effective. I'm not really used to missiles but mid range shots at the enemy's side tend to re-lock after a flare most times. What...

Re: First kills (against AI)

Missiles seem to be my major problem - I engaged a non-YSFHQ pilot on WW3 last night and lost 4-0 before leaving in despair. Part of my major problem has been squandering my missiles by taking shots from non-optimal positions; Ace Combat has taught me that the only safe place to fire a missile is fr...

Re: First kills (against AI)

Useing AA2 missiles, and long range AAM is part of it.. Good job, keep practiceing. Thanks! I'm sorry, though, I don't quite understand what AA2 missiles are. I think in future I may switch to the F-16C - it's said to have glitched agility, and one of the annoying things about this mission was that...

AEST, no daylight savings. Queenslander - the best state. :P Thanks for the info! I'm malingering around TeamSpeak and WW3 now.

Re: Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

Dunno, but I'll ask my friend milton. he finished the game in 5 days. My advice is: Wait, what? He said there was only one Tu-95 over dubai? Ok, I'm confused, but still, shoot the wings and engines. Should end their lives faster. What difficulty was he playing on? I'm on Pilot and I track two pairs...

Re: Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

I started AC at Fires of Liberation , which turned me on to the series as a whole. I bought Assault Horizon largely because the trailer music was an awesome remix of "The Liberation of Gracemeria" (similar remixes also appear in Missions 01 and 02 of AH , that I know of so far). Currently, I'm stuck...

Re: A tentative greeting

Thanks! I'll rack up some online flight time just as soon as I can - which has been tough, since I can't actually seem to figure out what the peak time is, UTC, for online servers. Most servers seem to be offline, and the ones that are online have no players, at the times I check the server list. No...

Re: A tentative greeting

Thank you, TheJuli and Raven! Shutter, I live in fear of you seeking out my batmans. Can anyone suggest some measures I might be able to take in the interests of protecting my precious batmans from such ravaging?

EDIT: And how do I get one of those lovely flight-time counters?

Re: A tentative greeting

lool well still you have no dinosaurs and again welcome and do you plan on being active around here?A lot of newbs make like 1 to 10 posts at max and dissapear. Drama would demand that this is the point at which I disappear in an ironic fashion. Happily, I plan to remain around a while, if YSFHQ wi...

Correct. But since my hand is already a golden stream of pixels and I'm suffering a severe shortage of batmans, I should be fine nonetheless.

Re: A tentative greeting

Squadrons, huh? I always wanted to see what combat was like here. On the other hand, I probably won't be challenging the guys on that blacklist for a while yet. :P

Thanks to you as well, NavyGator! I'll try to be a worthwhile addition to the community.

A tentative greeting

Long time watcher, first time pilot. I'm Yellowknife. I used to muck around with YS as a kid, but I'm making a serious attempt to explore the possibilities of the game and participate in its community; playing Ace Combat: Assault Horizon recently gave me a shedload of nostalgia, so here I am. How's ...
