Re: What are you listening to right now?

^ Not a bad tune there. This appears to be very recent, still has that distinct voice though!

Here's a great tune from the great Gerry Rafferty that didn't get as much attention as soem of his other hits, but fun song nonetheless to listen to.

A great jazz tune by the B-52s. Yes, those B-52s.

Re: Thought of the day.

Totd: I think all these gamers think they're being so cool when they say "this plane is cold and dark" when it is neither cold nor dark. Now I get it, it's a total fad but seriously, is it necessary to say it like it's some sort of custom before each flight?

Re: Weather In Your Area 2020

We've had some good rains with temps much below averages for this time of year. Temps are going back up this weekend but still below averages, and expecting hazy conditions with smoke from western U.S. fires spreading over our region. High temps will continue to be below average but in the low 80s f...

Re: Weather In Your Area 2020

It's been about the hottest stretch of weather here this summer, had a temp of 100F with a dewpoint of 72F on Friday giving us a heat index of 109F. It "cooled" down over the weekend a bit, temps back down in the mid-upper 90s and had some rain. Today we were expecting severe weather and that did ma...

Another prominent retirement just took place today. Actual retirement aircraft was a -400ER I think with the GE-CF6-80s.

Re: Current Projects

Pretty cool stuff! Didn't know the CMIs had all those different airlines before Abel Jets ;). Love those heritage liveries, kind of like how AA has painted some of its 320 family and 737 family jets in different liveries of former airlines pre-acquisition. Just a friendly clarification though, the t...

Re: Turbofan's SPUN

New expansion in the works! (If you've checked Discord in the past couple of weeks you already know so feel free to skip this post lol). Abel Jets' ThomasCook221 and FreezingFalcon have requested I make some major changes to facilities at both, Mandiola International and Linbury International airpor...

Re: Weather In Your Area 2020

Summer is in full force now in the Southern Plains, we've been having high temps in the low to mid 90s, steadily climbing to the 100 degree mark today. A heat advisory in in effect for our area today, expecting heat indices from 105 to 108F. Currently 80F with a dewpoint of 74F. Yeah, the Gulf atmos...

One of the most recognized TV themes ever. Had no idea Denzel Washington and Howie Mandel were in this show though.

Had one flight in the MD-88, still remember it well. Great aircraft! They had a good run indeed.

Thought of the day: A website that is named "FlightAware" always seems to have the most anti-aviation people commenting on nearly every news article. Go figure.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

This showed up in my "Discover Weekly". Nice tune! This is not The Butterhills' original track, the original was composed by The Cowsills (which was another family band in the '60s and had their own musical talents), but I did like this cover slightly better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiv0hyZq...

Re: Weather In Your Area 2020

Did I mention hail being the main threat for us this severe season? More storms today, more large chunks/balls of ice falling from the sky. Thankfully missed us but unfortunately did fall and cause damage about 5-6 miles to our east, continuing to our SE then S as a powerful supercell tracked on sou...

Re: Weather In Your Area 2020

I was watching the coverage of that line on WeatherNation, certainly looked stout on radar (and now we know just how stout it was). Glad to know you all are safe though, hope you get some help getting that tree off the roof. Also good that you got your electricity back sooner than expected, hope eve...
