Re: Weather In Your Area 2019

So we had some light freezing rain and sleet off and on during the day, but lucked out big time. Out west was a band of heavy precip that setup and dumped anywhere from 2-6 inches of sleet and snow. Highs in our area today ranged from the mid-20s to the low 30s. Tomorrow, sunnier and a high around 4...

This one is actually my top favourite from this group (I do like Land Down Under but I like this one better).

Re: Thought of the day.

ToTD/my two cents: Everyone can learn to code no doubt, but not everyone has the acumen to learn programming. Two completely different things. There is a reason why you have senior software developers after all.

Just like I will never have the acumen to be a physicist or something like that.

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

Another great night of Friday Night Flights. Welshy, decaff and I flew down to Sao Paulo from Rio de Janeiro. Another user by the name of Scarface-1 also joined us in a fighter (not seen here though since I wasn't able to get a screen shot). Also not seen is Welshy in the BA 320-200 (oops, over-wrot...

Re: YSATC | Now Hiring

Hey folks, my apologies for this topic being kept open but at the moment, there is no YSATC hiring going on. If the need for additional controllers arises though I will go ahead and set up something different for that time.

Re: [Aicraft] CRJ 1000 Garuda Indonesia BETA Pack

Also, it would be nice if the main gear struts were longer to match the length of the struts on the real thing (same goes for the -700 and the -900 for YSFS). Would reduce the chance of a tail strike on takeoff and/or landing ;)

That being said, nice effort and paint job!

Re: Screencaps (Unedited)

Decaff and I flew some long hauls on the YSCAS tonight. I flew from PHTO to RJAA while decaff flew from KLAX and joined me at RJAA. Fun times!

I flew the ANA Star Wars 789, decaff flew the NCA 744.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

One of my favourite tunes that got fairly good airtime during Local on the 8s on TWC, back in the '90s or so.

Re: B747 or A380?

Off topic, but the RB-211 isn't manufactured anymore. That kinda died with the 747-400. Neither is the JT9D. P&W should really bring back the JT9D, never mind the PW series. Right, I never said they're still being manufactured. I just said I flew in a 744 equipped with them ;) Still, plenty of RB 2...

As if you didn't know my opinion... :D Have had the pleasure of flying in the -100, -200 and -400 variants. And those equipped with all available engine manufacturers! (GE CF 6-80, PW JT9-D and RB 211-524).

Re: Weather In Your Area 2019

Weather is more or less typical of January around here. Had a high of 53F today, and very strong south winds. Tomorrow, winds will stay quite breezy out of the south but then turn to a northerly direction after a cold front passage and be just as gusty. The rest of the week we will have highs around...

Re: Weather In Your Area 2019

A relatively active pattern continues here, more rain coming tomorrow. Can't complain though, things can easily go from surplus moisture to drought in this part of the world. Temps are at or slightly above average.

Best wishes for your health in the New Year Gunny, and although I'm no good when it comes to putting a computer together (software guy talking here) we have members like Vic Viper and others who know their beeswax when it comes to stuff like this. I've learned a thing or two just by reading their po...

Re: Aviation Photos/Videos

Former CEO and founder of Southwest Airlines, Herb Kelleher, passed away last week. I got this video in my "suggested" videos on Youtube and being a fan of Southwest Airlines (and having read quite a bit about the guy himself), I wasted no time in checking it out. Keep in mind, this is from 1989, bu...
