Re: What joystick do you use?

I use a very cantankerous Saitek Pro flight yoke paired with CH products Pro pedals and custom made throttle quadrant by FSX throttle.

Scenery Help

Hi kids, I am looking to see if anyone has Taiwan's last updated version of his Taiwan map and willing to share it. My HDD bit the big one so all my saved YS files went with it. Holding sign Help out an old Vet

Re: B747 or A380?

In my opinion, they're all just big ugly flying cylinders. Hasn't been an elegant airliner since the Conny went out of service ;)

Persian Gulf [D&D copyright} FLT from OESB to OEPC both Aramco oil facilities. Pump Station 3 is my own unfinished creation, Shaibah is original to the map with a few added ground object from YSMajor. Best to fly at night cooler on the engine, but just a little bumpy from the thermals cooling the de...

Re: Your Desktop (HARDWARE EDITION!)

I got back last night from all the tests at the hospital, the upshot is #1 I cannot have another open heart surgery due to too much scar tissue from the first two surgeries, #2 the anesthesiologist cannot guarantee that I will come out of the anesthetic due to my uncontrolled blood sugar. They are g...

Re: Your Desktop (HARDWARE EDITION!)

Thank you guys [Vic]. It seems that my bank decided that I should have a free new computer today because they removed the charge out of my account and restore my funds for it ;) But stand by because I am going into the hospital today for pre-operative evaluation for another open heart surgery. that ...

Re: Your Desktop (HARDWARE EDITION!)

I got the new computer set it up, and will be sending it back lock, stock, and windows[sucks]10. Ys will not function, and my flight sim controllers software is corrupted and useless. What a disappointing letdown this was. Well back to the tried and true XP for me.

Re: Your Desktop (HARDWARE EDITION!)

Just the price I pay for disabusing my body in my younger days. I am just blessed for being here for as long as I have. And believe me when I say the battle is not over. I still have a lot of fight left in me. Most of my problems are agent orange related so the Veterans Administration covers my back...

Re: Your Desktop (HARDWARE EDITION!)

After so many years I am getting a computer upgrade from my old Lenovo ThinkCentre O/S Windows XP to a new Lenovo IdeaCentre 310s Windows 10, not exactly a whizbang gaming machine, but much better than my old XP machine. AMD graphics instead of the dinosaur intell card. a very long 4-6 weeks deliver...

Re: Joystick or Keyboard?

I use [Sietek Proflight yoke], rudder pedels[CH Pro], throttle quadrant[Fsxthrottle, gear, brakes, elev., rudder trim, Prop RPM], and a button console[Desktop aviator] for avionics and Navs. Works really good for single and twin light A/C GA flights that I exclusively fly. Still, need a few keyboard...

Re: My thoughts on YSFlight.

Just my thoughts at 2:19 AM CST from a tired old man. That somethings need changing is a foregone conclusion folk. But as to what is the salient point. A thought, stop trying to be all things to all people, find a target user group and concentrate on them, who seems to be more active? Servers and of...

Re: The best and worst flight sim

My friends, when I criticize YS I do so out of love and concern, not out of spite or derision. I have been a real-world pilot so I have no need to re-train on any of the high-end simulators as my health will no longer allow me to ever fly a real A/C again. But YS allows me my fantasy to not be groun...

Re: The best and worst flight sim

Basically, YSFlight is Sojis personal test bed for his programming projects and nothing else. It is a learning and teaching tool for him. At no point has he intended for it to be a serious flight simulator? That it has been released at all for our use was just a happy happenstance. And now it seems ...

Re: The best and worst flight sim

At no point could YSFlight be considered to be in serious competition as a flight simulator. So comparing it to FSX or any mainstream flight simulators is wishful thinking at best, as the tagline, anything is possible in YSFlight proves that point.

Re: YSFlight 20181001 Test Version

I tried to install it, but all I got were error messages about read memory failures and could not find entry point kernel dll. Thank goodness for system restore ;) I guess the best I can hope for with my Windows XP is 2015 version :(
