Re: Team up build a new simulator?

I need more time when I am so time poor I am in time poverty.

I'm now juggling full time uni, full time work and a project in business. I cannot add the required development of a new game into the mix.

You cannot give me time.

Re: Team up build a new simulator?

I've considered it, and it would need to use YSF models ideally. - SRF, dnm etc. But it's just going to be too much work for one person right now. And not to put anyone else down or toot my own trumpet but I think I'm the only one that's around at the moment that could do it, and even then that's a ...

Re: issues with custom made scenery objects appearing

The building appears to explode on spawn. Try setting the collision file to null, and try test-spawning it higher above the ground (say, 100m to get started)

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

You hit "post reply" and make a post. Then you do the exact same thing again. It's better to use the edit button (see top right of post) so that the forum pages don't get needlessly clogged. We do this for two reasons: 1) Readability. Each post uses a bit of vertical space and makes it hard to navig...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

It's a good question re: getting the measurements just right. We all have our creative ways. My way was to make a axis star and move it with dnmviewer. When I got it in just the right spot, I'd copy out the coordinates it was at. You can almost definitely do it much easier in blender though - copy t...

Ah don't worry about that one, it's not too much of an issue for now.

Do you have a log in ./Logs/Debug?

Re: [ALPHA]OpenYS 2.0

Okay let's try this again. I've changed the way the login works for sending entities slightly. I've moved the debug out of the UI and into a dedicated log file with timestamps. I don't know if this is going to work indefinitely yet - in fact I doubt it will, but this will give me more information to...

Re: Flakes Construction Yard

Back to work. I've completed re-writing the connection class to be much cleaner to look at and work with by breaking into a partial class instead. Now I can dig right into where I need to be - code is much easier to read and maintain and overall just contemplate how all the pieces fit together. Now ...

Re: Decaff's Garage

Not sure if you're considered the cases of nested sceneries and rotated map frames.

My code in OYS 2.0 source (and 1.0) does deal with these cases so if you haven't implemented do go have a look for a hint on how to deal with that.

Best of luck, I can see you're very close.

IQ 200 response to the problem right there, never even considered doing that.

Care to share a screenshot of that? I'm quite curious now.

Re: [ALPHA]OpenYS 2.0

I'm glad you can log in locally and not having too many issues. The big test will be if it stands the test of time over the internet. :) If no one else does, I'll login later this afternoon (local time +5 hours from time of posting this?) and give it a test myself. As I'm in a sharehouse with dodgy ...

Re: [ALPHA]OpenYS 2.0

Have you pointed the YSFlight Directory setting to the correct location? :) And, if so, could you please tell me the language locatilisation of your PC (I presume it should be en-us for you pat.)? Also what addon packs are you trying to load, the same that are on your server build? Thanks for trying...

Re: [ALPHA]OpenYS 2.0

New version is up. I'd like for someone to download this, and edit the settings to run OpenYS Server only on port 7915. Test it with your friends - can they join your server by connecting their YSFlight clients to your IP on port 7915? Can they log in? Join flight? Fly around with exploding or dropp...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

I'm definitely a visual learner. That's why trying to get through all the International Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards is just so damned hard for me - it's just paragraph after paragraph of convoluted sentences that would be better presented as bullet lists. Dry...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

Cool beans. Just regarding cockpit animations - somethings you can do and some things you can't. There is no CLA for throttle position for example, but there is a CLA for low/hi propeller speed. So you can't make a sliding throttle but you can have a binary throttle, or semi-binary throttle that's b...

Re: YSFlight Videos

I get the shots by flying chase and then replacing the aircraft model with a transparent one I made. As for the lower taxi shots, I drive a car and repeat the process. That's pretty similar to YSCamera - YSCamera is a custom aircraft with no visual model, or a video frame etc. You fly your "follow"...
