Re: YSFlight 20170314 Test Version (UPDATED)

Though they are open formats the idea of using a space delimited text file to define game parameters and models is uniquily Soji's intellectual property. We may be able to get away with using the ys formats, but a seperate conversion tool is probably best.

Re: YSFlight 20170314 Test Version (UPDATED)

I get that Soji wants to practice his coding, but have a separate spin off project to do that in - don't break the program you've been working on for years by introducing new code - keep it pure.

Yes, nominees CAN vote for themselves! Should this even be a thing. I think the community would be better off if nominees are not able to vote for themselves and must vote for someone else. I think the big problem is - how do we police this? The forum doesn't quite let us take that level of control...

Re: Nominations - Forum Specific [Ends 23 March]

Hi again HQ! True to my word I took a 6 month break from administrative duties to work on my own life a bit. I'm busy than ever but also more organised - I feel I could easily take on the duties of forum administration once again. Those who know me know I have a long and somewhat complicated history...

it could be done using ground objects and moving them along a motion path. Creating my own on the server can't be done though unfortunately.

Re: Anyone else like this idea?

Go to the OYS thread and if you start counting back from the last page, you'll see a release I made for Patrick31337 a little while back. AFAIK that version is the most stable and most likely to work for you.

Re: Textures

I've seen good "mid-range" models with as little as 500 total polys.

I would say 2000 to 3000 for a semi-decent looking aircraft though.

Re: Request | Australian Scenery

I have tried this myself. a 1:1 size map, centered around Newcastle, NSW, shook bad enough near Tindal, NT, so I gave up. It may work if you center the map around Uluru. I tried a cell based method of map rendering (breaking the map into multiple 10000 square kilometer segments.) and that was inconc...

Re: What happened?

What happened is the developer kept the program closed source and refused help from other willing people. Plus the developer got ahead of himself and added more features then the code could sustain-ably have. Now he's trying to chase his tail to fix the code inefficiencies and pinch points but it's ...

Re: Boeing timeline graphic mistakingly promotes Airbus 321

The 737 is easily distinguishable compared to ALL other large commercial airliners. The gear, the wings, the everything.

How one can choose to photoshop Boeing 737 onto a stock image of an Airbus 321 is mind boggling - did you think no one would notice?

Re: [PROGRAM] OpenYS - Open Source YSFlight Server!

I've had a look but honestly that's really hard to narrow down due to my previously poor coding habits. I can tell it's a null exception error but I don't know where, because the PDB thingo isn't working. :/

Long story short don't re-invent the wheel - follow the history of ysflight events and look at how they were run. Do the same thing. You got this!

Here in Australia this weekend the temperatures reached 48C~121F all at once, 90% of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australian states. ( Temperature Map ) As a result, our volunteer rural fire services and paid fire brigades are all working overtime to get the fires sorted out. For ...
