Re: YS Micro-Challenges

Send an airliner through the toothpaste tunnel. I don't even know if it has the pitch rate, or even the wingspan, but it would be fun to try Ha I gave that a go once. It'll fit - just - if you go the 737, but she hasn't got the thrust for the vertical sections. Speaking of vertical wind, there are ...

Re: Polygon Crest - Available Now!

I never worked out how to compile Soji's code as he used codeblocks to build it - I've never used it and I don't know how to get the cmake files going.

If anyone is knowledgeable, Soji uses codeblocks and cmake for all of the YS library.

Re: .Dat Variables: Ground Objects

Nice! thanks for the brilliant write up! Can this be expanded to show the data type and size limits of the variables? eg: Pretty sure GUN is an unsigned short, so you can load a max of 65535 rounds. Also BTW: "EXCAMERA "PASSENGER_SEAT" 0m 0m 0m 0deg 0deg 0deg INSIDE - secondary F1 view "NAME" x y z,...

Re: Automatically add or remove the Line "ZL"

Also curious. By the way, very small source code footprint at 22 lines. I had a read and seems to do exactly what is says on the label. It'll work on any filetype, so DNM and SRF will go fine. Essentially, if the line contains "ZL", the "ZL" is replaced with nothing (""). Is the line contains 5 spac...

Re: Question about Feb. 13 YSAC

Ruskie, You may be able to install YSF2012 to another folder on your PC. If you have all the addons in a newer version, then you could copy your Aircraft/User/Ground/Scenery folders from that version into the YSF2012 version folder (C:\Program Files\YSFLIGHT.COM\YSFlight\) Newer addons will definite...

Yeah nah, Nah yeah.

Heya. I haven't been around. Time, workload, life. You know how it is. Personally. I don't think I'm going to "be around" ever again. I've outgrown YSF. It was fun, and I might just duck in for the occasional Air Show or whatever, but yeah, sorry to say but I think this is it. For reals. So the ques...

Patrick, you'll know better than I.

Is 20161023(2339) the latest version that you are using also? I might see if I can push a quick update for this.

Re: How do I create a moving head animation?

Everyone has hinted at it, but my 2c: You need to set a child/parent combo. Have an empty srf (null.srf) as assigned to elevator. Have a child srf (Head.srf) assigned as a rudder within that. Now the elevator CLA will move the head up and down, but the rudder will move it left and right. Any combina...

Re: Team up build a new simulator?

I need more time when I am so time poor I am in time poverty.

I'm now juggling full time uni, full time work and a project in business. I cannot add the required development of a new game into the mix.

You cannot give me time.

Re: Team up build a new simulator?

I've considered it, and it would need to use YSF models ideally. - SRF, dnm etc. But it's just going to be too much work for one person right now. And not to put anyone else down or toot my own trumpet but I think I'm the only one that's around at the moment that could do it, and even then that's a ...

The building appears to explode on spawn. Try setting the collision file to null, and try test-spawning it higher above the ground (say, 100m to get started)

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

You hit "post reply" and make a post. Then you do the exact same thing again. It's better to use the edit button (see top right of post) so that the forum pages don't get needlessly clogged. We do this for two reasons: 1) Readability. Each post uses a bit of vertical space and makes it hard to navig...
