Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

I'm definitely a visual learner. That's why trying to get through all the International Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards is just so damned hard for me - it's just paragraph after paragraph of convoluted sentences that would be better presented as bullet lists. Dry...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

Cool beans. Just regarding cockpit animations - somethings you can do and some things you can't. There is no CLA for throttle position for example, but there is a CLA for low/hi propeller speed. So you can't make a sliding throttle but you can have a binary throttle, or semi-binary throttle that's b...

Re: YSFlight Videos

I get the shots by flying chase and then replacing the aircraft model with a transparent one I made. As for the lower taxi shots, I drive a car and repeat the process. That's pretty similar to YSCamera - YSCamera is a custom aircraft with no visual model, or a video frame etc. You fly your "follow"...

Re: HUD modification

Another option you might consider, is have a static crosshair on the aircraft itself as part of the aircraft model. My own Black Dragon F/A-18's have a blank cockpit model file, and a blank instrument panel (.ISP?) file referenced in the DAT file, and "use instrument panel" set to TRUE. This way, wh...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

No worries Cosmic. For DAT files, it's pretty much a "learn by doing" approach - change a value, take a test flight, see what happens. There is a library on what DAT variables there are in the forum, look in the addon creation section for a stick on that. DNM animation, I personally use DNMViewer - ...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

So do you know how addons in YSFlight work? As in how DAT files, DNM's, SRF's, LST's etc. all work? Crack them all open in a notepad and you'll start to put together how all this works. Seems like you've got a pretty good handle on it so far so I'll leave you with that unless you have more questions...

Re: looking to build up a fleet of advanced fighter aircraft

Well the important thing to remember is the basis of copyright law: You are not allowed to edit or use someone elses intellectual property without express permission. Many people who make high quality works often only want derivitive works to be done in a certain way. They may say "no one else modif...

Re: Flakes Construction Yard

Just tried to download the source material on my laptop and failed to build due to missing ClickOnce manifests in 0.00_ServerMode.exe - this is an error in the project file definition .csproj that refers to ClickOnce manifest signing entries that are no longer used. You think VS would be smart enoug...

Re: Flakes Construction Yard

Alright I've been thinking and there's a few things I want to do: 1) Encapsulate the Lists used by the program. There are several lists: Lists of Vehicles on the server, lists of ground objects, lists of connections and users etc. The problem with using lists directly is that you can't enumerate a l...

The machine prints out a blank warranty card to be filled in by the management.

I shred the card and put the trash in the bin. Who needs warranty with our infinite budget?

I insert a Benjamin Franklin into the machine.

Re: Flakes Construction Yard

So I just ran a test of the OYS server over the internet, and what works fine on my PC is not working for anyone else. Consequently, it's very slow to start a connection on the server, then there's data send issues. I need to work out what's wrong here but to do that, I need to have a more details l...
