The problem is likely that the .coll file is intersecting the ground when it's stopped. It can be fixed by moving the gear position down, but then the airplane floats. Editing the .coll should fix it though. Is there a link I can grab it from to verify?

I just ran some tests. It turns out the values of clean weight, fuel weight, and payload weight have no effect on the lift/weight calculations. It does affect aircraft acceleration (thrust/mass) and speed/altitude though. Because smoke is classified as a payload, it does affect lift/weight calcs. Re...

As best I can tell, the SMOKEOIL line doesn't actually change anything about how the aircraft performs.
