Re: Elevation Grid Generator

@Skipper Are you going to do the UK or is it just exercizing you scenery editor muscles? Just exercising my scenery editor muscles, and I've got most GIS data for the UK. My experiments with the shuttle radar topography mission dataset are here . I stressed it out with my 30mb elevation grid, and i...

Re: Random questions about anything NEAR and IN the realm of YSFlight

It seems that the scenery files are saved as a .pc2 file. The bit you've written about is the bit that calls the .pc2 file, and says where it should go. PC2 FIL "0000000......whatever01.pc2" //So this is the bit that calls on the pc2 file. Techincally you could have a separate file somewhere else in...

Re: Random questions about anything NEAR and IN the realm of YSFlight

I did! It's mostly detailed on that blog post! (I think...I can't really remember, was a while ago) I've not looked at the format for .fld files, I guess it's like a flat .srf.... ..It has been a while since I've done any modding But the elevation grid generator thing is basically the same thing as ...

Re: Random questions about anything NEAR and IN the realm of YSFlight

No, the speed is set by .Dat, as far as I remember. But you can create another .dat with your slow speed and recycling the dnm.
So yea, they just go flat out.

Re: Soji Interview

Unfortunately all the 1st season stuff was lost.. all the random interviews with people on TeamSpeak.. Iceman singing etc etc. I did start a season 2 though, and I'm not sure if it was ever released (Would've been 2007 if it was). I've got that saved somewhere too, with one episode of the YS Story, ...

Re: Current Projects

I did a write up of the method Method But it is far too big a file. This is a tiny area, like 10km square, 401x401 cells, and the file is 5mb. I've got the SRTM data at 90m resolution, but for the whole of the UK, its 7000x13000 cells, which would be a huge file! For some reason it is also flipped N...

Re: Do i have what it takes to participate in an airshow?

(I think you might've created two topics by accident)
It is a good start, but maybe build on it a bit more. If you look online, there are some airshow display routines around, the order of stunts being done. If you try some of these out, and practice with them, you'll be an acrobatic ace in no time
