Re: Repaints and things

Maps have to be made in Scenery Editor. Similarly, tutorials (text and videos) can be found on decaff's site, while the program can be found on ysflight.com.

Holy shit that is a real step up from the graphics on YS currently. Hopefully that'll be done soon :)

Re: Decaff's Garage

I had a second go and basically redid the dnm file structure (typing all the SRF, FIL, POS, CLA etc lines). Barracuz's suggestion was right, and I shouldn't have made it overly complicated. It does not have the door randomly opening midflight while transitioning from low to high speed, and the door ...

Re: Decaff's Garage

I made my own dnm. Names of the objects are pretty clear cut, with low speed LFI coloured blue and high speed LFI coloured red. It took me about 20 minutes of fiddling in Notepad, which is definitely a whole lot harder than using DNMViewer  This is best tested out in YS itself, as importing int...

Re: Decaff's Garage

My idea uses 2 LFI doors. Basically it goes like this: (From here I'm referring VGW animation STA 1 as when YS thinks VGW is "extended" and STA 2 as when it is "folded". I can't remember which is which exactly. When an STA is "ticked" it refers to it being visible, and vice versa.) 1 low speed LFI d...

or you could just use /immortal on OpenYS servers when you have no weapons on board. No need to worry about armed assailants gone astray regardless of whether your aircraft is trinium/stalinium-plated or not.

Re: Problems with Blender 2.7x

Though note that you can model and make a mesh with all the cool features with 2.7, save it as a .blend and use 2.49 for finalizing animations, painting, or other ys srcipt work. Blend files are compatible all across You do have to remember to enable legacy support while saving in 2.7 though if you ...

Re: [PROGRAM] OpenYS - Open Source YSFlight Server!

First, somebody I will not name here sent an emoticon from Discord and it kicked everybody off of the server. Hi, that must be me. This has been happening ever since OYS-IRC support was implemented, and I have managed to crash many people's YS from sending my healthy dose of non-UTF-8 emoticons. Ma...

Re: Current Projects

I think Go make them yourself then. This is the kind of posts that is the bane of the request subforum: requesting for too many aircraft. Sure, one or two is fine, but this..? That list is almost 30 aircraft worth of repaints. You probably know how much effort goes into repainting a single one, but...

Re: [DISCUSSION] Aircraft Regulations for Combat Squadrons

No, the thing is, we don't even have the source code of YS in the first place. 2ch scripts did not use YS' source code. Yes it would be helpful if Soji released the source, but then we no longer have to develop scripts to supplement YS; rather modifying the source to suit our needs. But since Soji d...

Re: NightRaven's Shed

hoho I'm back ...kind of. My exams are now ending and the remaining papers don't seem to pose that much of a challenge anymore. As such, I have picked modding and YS flying back up again, though not as much as I used to. In the past 1 or 2 weeks I haven't done much, but I have been working on improv...

Re: Repaints and things

For starters, there are a few links in the sidebar under Add-on Creation. For mod creation in general, decaff's video tutorials are the must-go-to for learning how to mod, as they teach you the basic usage of the programs involved. There's also our tutorial subforum located in the Addon Creation sub...

Better to use the 500lb HD (High Drag) bombs. No trail, hangs around until it hits the ground and actually slows down.

The original Orbis DC-10-10, N220AU, has been donated to a museum after nearly half a century of service. It's quite inspiring, knowing that these jets have done lots of work over its lengthy life. And yes I will make this ;) http://azbigmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/DC-10.jpg https://www.ins...

Re: [Aircraft] Cal-Air 717

As with any random Blender related advice that I offer, always try out more methods of doing things. If you're cool with just going into vertex paint and changing colours, try cutting meshes to see what kind of paint schemes you're able to create. If you're cool with cutting meshes, try doing up dec...

290 deg post stall AOA..? o_O I kinda figured this wouldn't work very well given that these are post stall maneuvers rather than normal maneuvers, so you'd be pulling a lot but not actually going anywhere. I don't think there is any way to do G limiting on stock YS, given the way YS works (more spee...
