Re: Current Projects

Just to let you guys know that DIF is not dead. I'm still working on a few more aircraft for the next batch, which will cover the later part of the Pacific War: completed - FM-2 Wildcat F6F Hellcat F4U Corsair SB2C Helldiver A6M3 / A6M5 variants of the Zero J2M Raiden (Jack) D4Y2 / D4Y3 Suisei (Judy...

Re: Why map makers don't get more buildings in their maps?

If frame rate is not an issue the Hong Kong map could use a LOT more buildings too. You can't do the checkerboard IGS13 approach justice unless you look over the right wing during the turn and all you can see are roof tops.

Watching that amazing video reminds me: that CT-114 model will turn 10 years old this summer. I really need to get off my ass and update it.

2ch GAC standard vs. "Birdfarm" standard?

The 2ch GAC modding standard - no transparencies, minimal moving parts - was established so that even low end computers can handle large number of aircraft flying at the same time with minimal lag. Has computer performance improved enough that even a low-end computer nowadays can handle large number...

Good point. I'll add in a strong reverse thrust function to the DAT later. Maybe (no promise though) even modify the DNM to have Santa pulling on the reins as if he is getting the reindeers to stop.

USAF paint schemes and markings manual

This one is excellent. It is the technical specifications of USAF aircraft paint schemes, camo patterns, and other relevant stuff like exact dimensions of the star and bar roundel, for USAF aircraft up to July 98 (the date of the document). http://www.oldwings.nl/content/o0/USAF_TechOrder_TO_1-1-4.pdf

I have one done with Akira's 737-700, along with the older SWA scheme and the Shamu scheme. Just need to have his stuff released first.

Repainting my 747

For the past few years I've been observing various modders joining the YS scene, and it occurs to me now that the average modding/repainting skill has advanced to a point that my previous requirement of previewing/approving of your mod of my 747 has become unnecessary. So from now on if you want to ...

Re: Conversation with Soji - Results

As for specific weapons, I just want a light weight AGM like the Hellfire so that I can finally arm my Predator. The current Maverick in the game is too heavy for it.

Re: Conversation with Soji - Results

I don't see any need to regulate weapon performance, if they are implemented like maps or aircraft, and controlled by the server. If a weapon is not desirable for online play, whether they made too much damage or the range is too long, simply have the server owner take it off the server's weapon list.

Re: Love What You've Done With The Place

Just so that the newer guys be aware of Skyline's modder cred, he made the original mesh of the two Super Deformed plane in my pack (the A-10 and Su-27). And also some of the stuff in Welnio's pack. I think Skyline was around before YSflight supports transparencies.
