YSFlight ver.20120219 Bug Report Thread

Post by Iceman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 7:23 pm

Because this new version is incredibly unstable, I've created this thread to help Mr. Yamakawa out in development and to make things easier for everyone. But we need the community to be the testers, because the players are always the best bug catchers. So whenever something is wrong with the game, keep this thread open so you can report a bug and help the rest of us out!

How To Use:

1. Copy and paste this code into your post:

Code: Select all

[bug= Summay Of Your Bug ]
Short description of bug: (what it does, how to reproduce it, frequency)
Screenshot of bug [if possible]:
YSflight version used: [also list which executable is used]
Addon used [if any]:

System specifications of PC on which bug was confirmed [in following format]:
CPU:
graphics card:
RAM:
OS: (operating system, such as microsoft windows or linux)
[/bug]
2. Fill it out

3. Help the YS Community!

Double posting is allowed in this thread provided you are posting bugs. Thanks for your participation.

[bug=Continuing turn]Short description of bug: When driving the Jeep(44), if you accelerate then decelerate while turning, the jeep will stop all movement but continue to pivot. The brakes don't stop it nor does turning the other direction. Also, when I reapplied throttle to try and start going again, there was no effect. In other words, the jeep continued spinning and it failed to move forward.

[bug=Player SAM will not fire more than once]Short description of bug: Ground defense mission, you cant fire more than 1 sam at a time, until you switch from SAM to "driver view" and then back to guns.
Screenshot of bug [if possible]: Not possible.

CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7025
RAM: Unknown (sorry, I'll check later)
OS: Linux Suse 12.1[/bug]

I ask all Linux users to list their version, they don't all act the same.

NOTE: To all those whose vehicle drifts, although it sounds silly I have found t really depends on your view at the time, if you dont select the driver, you can face one way but drive another without intent.

Disconfirmed. That's a small error (deliberate?) soji made with the PAPI to make them more visible if you are far away. what you are seeing is the difference between the coarse and the detailed model.

[bug=ysflight-consvr segfaults && frame dropping when writing in ysflight]On my Linux machine when trying to start the server (ysflight-consvr) segfaults. The app starts at first, loading the packs and gives the menu, but when choosing the "Start Server" option and a map it dies.

I've used strace to get a log:

http://pastebin.com/fmV8rgWM

(I think you can skip until line 1300, or 1638)

Also, when running ysflight and writing a message (using F12) as soon as I start typing the frame drops very very much, from 50 fps to less than 10 fps, depending of my typing speed.

When you start "Close Air Support" and choose the Map it says "Error with ysmain" and closes the Game.

unrealistic f-22 dat: irl the f-22 is maneuverable at 0 airspeed and at negative airspeeds. the dat should reflect that (min mane speed, sorta like the cf-187, i like it for aerobatics becasue of the tv dat.)

Glitch le hai told me about: the stock f-4 has a t/w ratio of about 0.5 when in real life it's closer to 0.8. also, le hai says the stock mig-29 has the wrong thrust to weight ratio, but i didn't test to see what it should be and what it is.
