Soji Q+A Session

Post by Varren » Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:10 pm

When: TBC

Where: YSFHQ Teamspeak Server : ysfserver.com:9999 (In a locked channel)

Why: Soji wants to be able to talk to YSFLIGHT users without a 2 month delay via emails.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The channel will be locked so only invited guests will be moved into the channel on the day. A special usergroup will be given to Soji so no-one from outside the channel will be able to contact him. The date is still to be confirmed, it may be a little while away. If you would like to have the chance to ask Soji some questions (About YS of course) leave a reply to this topic and you will be contacted if you have been chosen. This is a great opportunity, don't treat Soji like a God, whatever you do.

I would love too and really hope I can shed some light on possibilities!

It really would depend on time though, and If I am working. Our time zones are pretty similar, so I think it'll work out! :D
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

I would hope that someone with a good technical knowledge of scenery editor could speak with him for a while.Someone like wasp or decaff.

I know I'm not really an important person in the YSF community but I would like to give some possible ideas and maybe fix a few bugs that are currently on YS , is that possible? If I can't , Its okay I'll understand.

I really don't think status is so much the issue as to being able to discuss intelligently the technical aspects with Soji in a given time frame. So much to discuss and so little time to do it.

Waspe probably has the best technical knowledge.

My only real complaint with the current test version of Scenery Editor, at least on mac is that there is a save and save as option. The old version only had Save as (effectively) and it allowed you to catch any name errors before saving. Since the mac version keeps the name of the last file opened, a hit of the save button (not save as) will completely wipe the previously opened file with the newest one, but under the previous file name. One miss-hit can wipe of hours of work. (i've done this for a total of about 20 hours of lost work) I'm not sure if this a mac only thing.

IMO there should be someone from every operating system present in the discussion. (windows, Mac, linux) That way all possible bugs can be addressed. different features available on the different OSs can be discussed and see if they can be copied over. (full screen YSF gameplay is one thing that comes to mind as it is available on windows, but not Mac)

I'd also love to assist, I have several suggestions for the combat-side and how he could do them.

for those of us that will not be able to participate.
Like, maybe a locked channel on you-tube?

I want to participate in this session as ambassador of YS Flight Korea. I'll gather our community's message and send to soji. And as one of the YS Flight fan, I want to talk him. It will be big honors.

That doesn't sound too bad. Have all the mods/marketing team here look at and obliterate stupid questions, and leave the best!

I'll PM selected people to give me their question in the coming weeks, I don't want the questions to be posted here. As for recording, by the looks of things we may be using text chat on Teamspeak, so I may post the logs on here afterwards.
