Even if it could be balanced by teams, it would still completely ruin the server. There should never be any single plane with such a massive, made up advantage as to make it the clear best choice.

Sounds like the scripts do that...
Unless we get them scripts, or we get Flake on Orb dev again, we most probably won't get those functions.

Recommendation: Include a script that punishes flap use in combat, or abolish the no flaps rule. No flaps is difficult to police, and it's far simpler to encourage it than to rely on everyone's honesty. If it can be punished, of course, that would be equally satisfactory.

In actuality, this feature was implemented in the server back then. Use of flaps at high speed during turns will result in engine damage (50% loss of thrust and no AB).

And for anyone who's wondering "Why would I want to be penalized of 14 seconds because I died?" This is primarily a balancing feature.Imagine you just shot down a supersonic Tu-140 heading straight to your base. It was a near miss, and the bomber nearly got to unleash it's bombs, but you managed to chase em and killed it. Your now low on ammo, low on fuel, and needs to head back.

Then, the Blackjack respawned again just as quickly. Your only choice now to save your base is to quit from flying and respawn too. This vicious cycle will continue on and on till it gets boring.

Another thing that it does is that it'll make the player to be more careful and cautious, leading to smarter decisions and a very real sense of not to wreck your aircraft. Instead, RTB when needed and stay out of fights you can't win. I know I did and believe me its damn satisfying when you got a legit 5x kil streak in the Eurofighter.

No, no application is necessary.

You may have to have the map, usually addon maps, to join the server. Servers like 42South are operating a stock map, so you shouldn't have any problems logging in to that one.

In addition to that,

1. Check that you did not change the port number (should be on 7915 at all times. If not, try to contact the administrator of said server to ask what to change it to.)

2. If trying to connect to the WW3 server, make sure that you have the map installed. If you don't have it, ask someone if they have the map to help you out, and if you don't know how to install map addons, try and find the topic that helps you with that.

3. Make sure that the IP address was written correctly or make sure that it was never changed.

If none of these work, check all of your internet settings and options. Any further than that I cannot help you with.

Type in the address of the server letter-by-letter. If you copy/paste, there is a good chance invisible spaces will be inserted.

WW3 server has been discreetly taken down indefinitly more than a month ago. no connections possible here.

However you should have no problem loggin in to servers running stock maps, such as: CP's server (cpfunhouse.no-ip.biz), The queue (bbs.mrqueue.com) or 42south (42south.ysfservers.com). All are using port 7915 (default).
