What do you want most for YSFlight?
Here is an explanation of the options:
Weather: Wind gusts, rain, snow, switch between day and night, etc
Better Physics: This explains itself
Better Scenery Graphics: Any graphics that aren't to do with aircraft. Real grass, better smoke trails, explosions (though these have got better)
Better Aircraft Graphics : Graphics to do with Aircraft - better HUD, support for textures, etc
Multiplayer: Ability to fly Pilot, Co-Pilot, Gunner, etc on servers
Plugins: The ability to add plugins that affect the way YSFlight works
Happy Voting!

Also I think the key elements that need some updating or need to be implemented are the physics and some variety in weather.
Who wouldn't want to skid sideways at 180 knots on an icy runway? Also maybe some realistic drag when setting flaps or air brakes. Oh and making crash/damage models. Skidding on the runway with only half the plane!

As long as i can have a MOAB, i'll be happy.Rise and Shine wrote:BLOODY UNIQUE WEAPONS, not these measly generic "AAM", "AGM", no, actually modding weapons like we would with aircraft. And yes, Soji wants YS to have no nukes, but he can always put a cap on damage, falloff and range of explosion.

Once a code is made open source it is difficult or impossible to close it up again. The benefit is that the captain's vision for the game doesn't get replaced by wave after wave of changes and he is still in control of the game into which he's put so much work.OfficerFlake wrote:What's the benefit? I'm not saying he should not consider taking on assistants, but I can also see why he wants to maintain control over the primary game code.

Re: What do you want most for YSFlight?
Take the phonebloks kickstarter or whatever that happened a while back:
For those of you who don't know, The Phonebloks was supposed to be a Smartphone with "Modules" that could be moved around, added and removed over time with the use of something similar to ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) Sockets. For instance, if you needed more batttery power and more space, but didn't need a camera or a Bluetooth adaptor, you could remove the modules for the camera and Bluetooth. YSFlight could work in the same way, if Soji would work to find some way to set it up like that. Say you wanted Better Weather. You could Install a weather Plugin, and upon starting YSFlight, it would initialize by allowing it's Process memory in RAM to be modified by a interpreter in /plugins. say there's a file in there that is called weather.ypl, which is the weather plugin i talked about before. Now, during this time in which the memory is modified by the interpreter to add the code into the executable temporarily. After all plugins are loaded, the Process' memory in RAM is locked back up, and YSFlight begins normal loading procedure.
Then, upon the executable Unloading, no modifications are made to the executables, making the modifications Temporary.
