Re: YS fantasy wishlist
I spent six months trying. Were it successful you'd have a carrier with elevators. It technically is possible, but so difficult to get right, it's totally unfeasable.Crazypilot wrote:Guys this should not be too hard to make.
Given that, I think I should give it another shot.

Re: YS fantasy wishlist
But, as this is the fantasy wishlist, I want users to land planes on other users (P-1112 FTW).

Re: YS fantasy wishlist
Being as how we now can book virtual flights on virtual Airlines, do we not have the ability to connect virtual maps together? A flight taking off from HI flies roughly WNW until they are swapped onto another server or a different sub-routine in the same server to be approaching Japan. Granted there would be some sort of blip or blemish in the continuity, but that could happen during the in-flight movie. I think all it would take is a list of STP's at the edges of maps in use by Airlines and as one flight ends the next flight begins using the same manifest making sure that the aircraft makes a transition at the same vectors. IS THIS JUST WISHFUL THINKING?
Another Fantasy, The color of the sky being spoken of already, I feel that this wouldn't be too far out there... How about an actual point depicting the source from where sunlight would be emmanating? YES, Lets have a depiction of the sun in the heavens; give some meaning to the phrase, "burning blue". (Also gives those that want to lie-in-wait a place to hide).

Re: YS fantasy wishlist

1st method:A static carrier with a ramp on its EDGE.It will not touch the carrier but have a ramp so a pane could survive the fall from the ramp.
2nd method:The lower deck also has a landing area and a hole in the roof which opens for a few moments so you can come out if your in a heli then closes.
(The upper duck will have markings to tell pilots that the floor can open up in one area of the carrier so accidents can be avoided.

Re: YS fantasy wishlist
This is very simple. The carrier would have the second deck on the edge. this would be made landable using the same method as the carrier. All you would need to do is animate it moving up and down. It would stay up for say, 30 seconds, move down slowly to keep you from falling, then stay down 30 seconds, then finally move up to the first position. Flightgear does this, but the carrier is controlled by another player. This carrier was not made by the development team. It was made by a bored programmer who had the idea then worked on it for three years (this is due to the level of graphics and features that the Flightgear community expects). See the map "City War III" in YS. There is a building that works like the carrier described above. A landable deck on top with rooms on the inside.Crazypilot wrote:1st method:A static carrier with a ramp on its EDGE.It will not touch the carrier but have a ramp so a pane could survive the fall from the ramp.

Re: YS fantasy wishlist
gear damage for hard landings
In-flight wind changes, based on the zone of the map
Turbulences
A better rudder pyshics
built-in G limit for every aircraft, based on the DAT file
Speaking of that, some documentation about DAT files and how exactly they modify the plane behavior
an HUD that doesn't zoom in, or an HUD that doesn't cover the whole screen area
Re: YS fantasy wishlist
Both of those exist. Simple hud. .Dats explain all the functions.DavideV wrote: Speaking of that, some documentation about DAT files and how exactly they modify the plane behavior
