Problems With 2ch

Post by YFH-555 »

Everyone is wondering what ever happened to the Japanese 2ch.
They have collapsed. There page is not there and the URL (ysflight.info) is sold.
Though they still have their BBS.

In the BBS there was a terrible remark.

"手前味噌の飛行隊"
Which means,
"boasting air forces"

They have declared war against YSFHQ's squadrons.
They think VFA-49 and CVW-171 leaders are boasting about their sq.

In the end the 505 server has shut down.
This means there are no Japanese server excluding mine (555 srever) running.

What can we do to bring Japanese players to YSFS?
No, not only Japanese from around the world.

Wait a second. They shut down 2ch because of a couple of squads on the HQ?

Not really.
But they say,
"VFA-49 and CVW-171 are too weak to form a squadron.
They are boasting just to make fun of others."

2ch is now really scaring newbies away.
They have no wiki, server, BBS admin and so on.

We need to do something.
Like making a YSFHQ Japan Branch or something.
I think this is the only way to stop 2ch from scaring newbies
or saying bad stuff at YSFHQ squadrons.

Wait, who are these guys??? I've never even seen them on so how would they even know this? I'm also a bit concerned how my guys got pulled into this if we're not even on servers that much. I mean, there hasn't been anyone to really boast about the 49th until the last few months, and even then it's mild. Maybe they mean the rivalry between 171st and 49th?

Also if they're cocky enough to call us weak, they can come over and find out...I'm sure we'd be happy to straighten that out.

That's odd. I think there was a mention of this on another BBS. Forgot which.

I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

I might be wrong, but I suspect something, somewhere, got lost in translation and has caused confusion.

That's what I'm thinking but I still can't get my head wrapped around what it has to do with them. Our two communities haven't been any closer than we were when the ww3 server was around a while back. Other than that, I've probably spent less than an hour on any of their other servers and never really saw anyone else from here on them for that matter.

But as a fact, many English speaking players including squadron members were banned from 2ch servers.

Got lost in translation? No. I know what I'm writing.

So wait, when are we talking? Recently? I can't see how any of us here would've caused something like that without bringing it up here. You think there may have been some imposters?

I"m pretty sure Copperhead said he was banned from some Japanese server or other, but I think that was before he joined the 171st. Last time the 171st was seriously interested in the Japanese community, - this was a few years ago - we were trying to set up some sort of cooperative relationship. Not aware of anything coming of it.

I won't pretend that we're all angels, and perhaps some of our actions don't culturally translate well.

If someone wants to shoot at me I'll shoot back, I have no issues with the Japanese communities and in fact have nothing for them (other than my love for GAC). I think people got rubbed up the wrong way!

I'm thinking it's got something to do with that. Like I said, I'm pretty sure everyone here has encouraged at least mutual respect for the Japanese community and any other one for that matter.

I highly doubt that it would be because of an incident that was almost a year ago. Besides that, I haven't heard a peep from them in regards to playing YSFlight since after Hawkbit and VintiX were banned. Hawkbit told me almost immediately after VintiXgo was banned that he was through with YSFlight.

If had to take a guess, I'd say that we probably offended someone high up in the 2ch community. According to YFH-555, they declared war on HQ's squadrons, especially CVW-171 and VFA-49.

In other words: "What we have here is a failure to communicate"

I meant more in the cultural sense.

I've always wondered why we have members here from all over the world, but not many from Japan. Maybe they don't know they are welcome here, or maybe they don't feel comfortable with the language. Either way, the Japanese YS modding community is held in high regard here.

How many YS communities are there other than ours? I know of a Korean one but are there any others? Is YSFHQ now the biggest?

I know they hate the use of lowered fuel and flaps, maybe we're looked down upon because of it?
