It's awesome to see so much interest in this, though... Never got this kind of reception when I ran things like this through YSP.
Yeah. I hope this is a beginning of a great ATC generation

umm. I have a dance thingie all-day tommorrow, but guess I'll get some sleep now and wake up 4.30.

That was fun. Thanks for that last vector, defiantly helped me get on the ground a bit faster.

Thanks for coming out to the event guys! It was incredibly successful (in fact, too successful for the servers to handle...). Check out the screencaps thread to see some shots of my radar screen(s).

I'll work on getting some of the kinks out over the next week... so be ready next Thursday!

P.S. -- Iceman suggested that we use two separate YS Servers, with a single TeamSpeak server so as to reduce lag while still having everyone on the same ATC channel... I'm inclined to agree. Thoughts?

Sounds good. And I can help with the ATC load by taking ground control or something.

And 4.30 AM in Finland.

Tho it's understandable, if it causes too much trouble for wingz + guess we have to follow what's best for the majority of us.

It's just that that's the only time during the week (with the exception of the occasional Sunday night) that I am available.

(for now, anyways)

Perhaps this scheduling issue may inspire others to try and learn the ATC ropes and host their own civilian events.

if wingz could provide the server, i'd be happy to host this but in a conviniant GMT time and maybe you could do the same Fariiniq.

that would be awesome

I'd be happy to host, just don't want anybody to feel like I'm stepping on their toes. Tho considering the success of this event, another one to balance the traffic might not be such a bad idea.

What do you people think?

Providing the YS or TeamSpeak server is no problem for me, but as we saw during the event, it's difficult for my connection alone to handle both systems at once. I'm more than happy to try, though!

I'm all for a GMT-friendly event, provided that it is tied to the Thursday events (meaning both events use the same procedures and rules, cross-promote each other, etc). That way, if there's anyone who can make it to both events each week, they're able to make the transition seamlessly.
