YSF needs more VAs

Post by YSFan » Mon Jul 13, 2015 8:39 am

I have been lurking around the forums for a while and found that YSFlight has too few active VAs. In fact, it only has 3 (NCA,PAVA,Abel Jets). The rest are all inactive or have closed down. Why are there so few? There really needs to be more VAs. Can someone please start a new VA?

Supply and demand. You want more VA's? Join a VA and promote that VA so that others will join the VA market, then there will be more VA's. That's the only way this is going to work.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Like flake said. Running a vs takes a lot of time and patience. The best way to get more vas is to let the airlines get busy, then more people join and get enough experience to make their own. I've said it before and I will say it again. Join a va and stay for at least a year or half before even thinking of starting a VA. :)

most inactive VA's have stopped running due to the owners personal commitments due to no fault of their own, it just happens to be honest.

To have anything more than an ad-hoc VA you need more people flying civil on YS.

The civil side only really got going when the servers were packed with people, and even then there were some difficulties in starting up.

I know there a bit too few VAs but there also not enough members. Even if there were more VAs whos gonna join? The google bots?

Anywho why not join any of the existing VAs? Rumor has it that NCA is the coolest, hippest and awesomest VA to fly for. Check out their site here.

Please don't start with the squads again . . .

Flake's right, VA's need participation and more experienced people who can branch out. We're already on a good track with lots more ATC events promoting civilian flying.

Well you really dont need experience to run a VA, look at Abel.

We just need more people flying. We dont need some ex delta ceo to teach us how to keep an airline afloat and running.

People want to fly with other people but if there are no people the people wont want to fly.

Do you not know how lonely it gets?

Remember that influx of people making virtual airline companies left and right? At that time I was thinking of starting a really small charter or commuter VA when suddenly every kid over summer break wanted to open up a VA and over-saturating the site with posts of them. With some demanding (not asking) to make them a slew of aircraft for their VA ranging from full detail paints to making a full, detailed aircraft from scratch.

I couldn't even come up with a simple name for mine. Let alone a design scheme.

Plus reason why a lot don't fly is because of the bored dolts online who just shoot down anything that moves. Or sits on a runway.

I don't think you understand what I meant. When I say get experience, I mean have a little understanding of how to keep things going . Look back when all those VAS started being made, not many are still around. Vas are about community and flying with like minded people, it's about having fun. PAVA is looking too if anyone wants to join. - http://www.penguinairwaysva.netai.net

Yeah, like what Barracuz said, there aren't enough members to have more VAs. It's quite lonely here. We have to get more members first, and then we can make more VAs. By the way, if you're interested to join Abel Jets VA, visit http://abeljetsgroup.weebly.com

Buuuuuut muuuuuuuum, NCA started it!

But yeah, echoing what's already been said, there's too many VAs for too few people, although there's nothing stopping anyone from starting a VA of their own, for now I'd strongly advise against it, especially if it's your first. Join a VA, work yourself up the chain, have fun, gain experience. More people do this and Civi YS will be a happy place.

As Staff Members and as CEO/VP of PAVA once Jetskit is back from his lovely holiday with ISIS in Egypt we'll be working hard to reinvigorate Civi YS. I realise something along these lines gets said every time one of these topics pops up, but Jetskit is one of the most dedicated people I've met. He'll make sure we're keeping our promise.

Until then, just fly - please ;)
