Hey peoples,
Now that the last remaining U.S. airline to fly the "Jumbo Jet", United, will be flying the last scheduled 747 service from San Francisco International to Honolulu International, I thought it might be cool to get online and fly our own United States send-off flight for the "Queen of the skies." Why a "U.S. send-off" you ask? Simply put, all U.S. carriers will have retired the 747 from regular service after United's flight on Nov. 7. A handful of airlines like LH, KAL, CA and KLM will still be flying the plane on a regular basis (however, KLM will be retiring its 744s soon, maybe as early as next year; LH, CA and KAL on the other hand just got a fleet of still-new 747-8Is - they'll be around for while ). And BA just announced that it will be retiring its own fleet of 744s in 2024, so they'll be in service for a good while longer.
Although of course, we'll still keep flying the 747 in the virtual world for years to come, I think it will be cool to commemorate the real-world service, UA 747 that is scheduled to depart SFO at 11:00a.m. PDT on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

DETAILS:
We will be using OYS for this event. Only simple 747s have been chosen for obvious reasons . Plus, these YS versions also have way better viewpoint functionality.
To allow as many members as possible to make it to the event, I have set the time/day for Sunday, Nov. 12 at 11:00a.m. PST (remember this is going to be after daylight savings time ends ). Incidentally, that is also the scheduled departure time of the real-world last United 747 service, UA 747 (that's the flight number of the actual service, no joke).
If you'd like to join, simply spawn on the server at the specified time and date, and announce your chosen callsign (Delta 34 heavy, Cathay 147 heavy etc). Note that if someone else already has a callsign that you've chosen, you'll be given a different flight number (e.g. if someone spawned before you and chose Delta 34, which is what you want also, I'll assign you a differrent flight number to avoid confusion).
We'll be using one of the Discord ATC communications channels for voice communication, and in-game F12 chat for text-communication, unless of course we get a last-minute Teamspeak channel.
Lastly, please spawn only at a ground position or a terminal position at San Francisco International. Spawning in an air-start position or at another airport than specified will result in you not getting ATC instructions or being booted off the server. Your cooperation is appreciated .
Hope to see a good turnout!
