YSFlight Warbird Collective - REBRANDING

YSFlight Warbird Collective - Virtual Planes of Fame Air Museum

The leadership of the YSFlight Warbird collective have made the executive decision to rebrand to the Virtual Planes of Fame Air Museum.

After consulting with people that have quite the history on several platforms, we have made the move to not only a new name, but to a multi-platform organization. This move will be a quick, seamless transition, and we are really excited to bring you a ton of new content on multiple platforms. Ranging from airshows, to group flights, and aviation history sharing, we hope to be educational, and fun to everybody that wants to get involved.

We are hoping to launch onto three platforms, DCS: World by Eagle Dynamics, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and here, on YSFlight. With leadership and staff that has extensive experience on all of the aforementioned platforms, we hope to be able to get a running start this summer, with plans already in motion to host our first show on both YSFlight, and DCS: World, in the July & August months.

Now, how can you get involved?

Well, we are looking for people with experience in photoshop, gimp, and blender, to help us create repaints for our three primary platforms (listed above) if you are interested in scratch modeling aircraft for the YSFlight division, we are looking to recreate the POF's whole fleet on the platform, and make it available for the public.

If you have experience in the texture/skin making field for DCS or FS2020, we plan to complete skins for the following modules:

DCS World:
P-51D/TF-51D
P-47 (All Models)
F-86F
A-4E/C
Mig-15
Mig-25
B-17
Mosquito

MSFS:
COMING SOON
(But plan on the Reno T-6, P-51 and other aircraft)

We have plans to host two airshows this summer, the YSFlight Jones Beach Airshow, and the Virtual Tbilisi Air Fest & Fly-In.

Besides hosting airshows, we plan on as we have mentioned before, share stories, and history, and share this information on multiple platforms. We will be providing airframes to the YSFlight Blue Angels, and YSACC Heritage Flight team, which you can find more information about in or discord, linked below.

And where is list of POF's whole fleet for YSFlight?

Also, what about those users who would not like to use Discord at all?

u2fly, I'm gonna be bluntly honest here: you demonstrated at YSRIAT why being on Discord for aerobatics purposes is important. It's a very efficient platform for communicating with regards to practice and general instructions, so trying to avoid it is just sabotaging yourself.

Because of the endless possibilities in YSFlight, we feel that our horizon on YSFlight as a platform is much broader than what we currently have available on DCS, and I didn't want to make this post a mile long list of aircraft.

In regards to using discord, as Hawk mentioned, it is a very efficient platform, and while it may not be everybody's favorite platform, it's what we are using for the time being, we are looking into expanding to other communications platforms. If you have any recommendations, feel free to DM me here on the forums, and we can look into some stuff together. Hosting a TS3 server is something the Museum is looking into.
