Heathrow Airshow 20/07/13

Post by MegaKoce » Sat Jun 15, 2013 4:37 pm

I am thinking of making a airshow at Heathrow Airport
Dan from FAVA has agreed to host the server for it.
Do YOU agree for it ?

I wish you luck if you expect to sign up acts in 6 days.

I also got lols out of the fact you wanted to have the show on the 16/06/13, yeah, today... With no notice.

This level of poor planning will only end badly.

Sorry to shit on your parade but YOU are not ready to host a show, and most of FAVA aren't either.

I advise you stick around, come to the VNAF airfest then start digging your noses into what's actually required to run a successful show. (such as, for example, prior notification to any performers being over a months time...)

Welcome to the community, I hope you will take the time to wade the shallows and check the depth of the waters here before diving in headfirst and hurting yourself. 8-)
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

All of what Flake said but on a more advisory note, if that is the date you intend to run the show, you would get lots more people to sign up if you simply gave it a minimum of 4 weeks notice. You should also have a plan for some sort of music and narration. Glad you could get a server host though.

I suggest you maybe push your show back a month and a half *just because AirFest will be a month from now* and then put up a topic with more information so people can decide what to do. We have lots of previous air show topics I really think you should take a look at to see how this all works. It's all there for you, just do some digging and reading and if you have any questions about running a show, please feel free to ask me.

Agreed. Airshows are a lot of fun, but it takes some preperation. Come to a couple to get a feel for how they run and talk with the people running them.

All the caution and such aside, welcome to the HQ! :D I hope that your enthusiasm for airshows will grow into more of them happening, The more the merrier!

The no's are not so much for not having the show at all.But for you to put more preparation and planning into it for it to actually be successful and not just a bunch of people flying willy nilly all over the server. We all really want air shows to be successful here. And we also want YOU to enjoy your time and experiance as well.Welcome.

Running an airshow on UK Lite+ is not a good idea and who's going to narrate this show?

Believe it or not, some people still work or go to school during the summer or simply have other things to do. In other words, few people are available on weekdays.

Although I am honored that you want to have the show on my UK lite scenery I have to agree with Gennero on it not being a good idea.Way to much lag for an air show to fly successfully with out problems. But at the moment I am at a loss to suggest an alternative scenery.Maybe some one has some suggestion?

I don't know but definetly should be on Heathrow.I like it way too much.
Maybe if someone can cut out heathrow only and add it as a new scenery?

TBH The size of Heathrow alone makes it almost unsuitible for airshows due to the two runways on either side. Also If you are that intent on using Heathrow then why not ask someone if they can mod the map and cut it down to just Heathrow and the surrounding area. Just my 2 cents

Or just use the default one.
