Have No Fear

Just a PSA for all you aerobatic studs and wannabes,
If you are at all thinking about flying in a YS air show but don't want to for whatever reason, I hope I can clear up the haze on how we do things for you newbies.
You don't HAVE to know how our shows work around here to get involved. If you want to sit one out just to see what it's like, that's fine, but it's not ultimately necessary. If you just want to know how your idea fits in, feel free to PM whoever's running that event and ask. The worst that can happen is you don't get your response in one day . . . seriously, I'll respond and so will any other guy. We're here to guide you and make sure you're comfortable. Sometimes, we'll bend over backwards to make sure you get what you want.
Worried your display isn't good enough or that you're not good enough? There's plenty of us lying around here who would love to critique your flying and let you know what you can do to get it where you want it. If not, fly it anyways. You'll definitely get feedback then. Take it positively and go practice!
Reading our rules and such and just don't want to test the waters because you think you'll get shot down? False. If an organizer sees someone who may not be quite familiar with how things work and have violated a "suggestion", they will politely PM you or notify you of what is wrong and how to fix it.
Don't be afraid of us. We aren't here to lay down the hammer. Our job is merely simple. We aim to provide a quality entertainment venue for you to simply enjoy and get some face time. Our shows are for your pleasure, and hours. These are not contests, but sometimes we do have rules and they have been established over years of this business. They're there so that everyone can have a good time to talk about for a long time while they wait for the next one.
So, just Keep Calm and Roll On!
