Prior Planning and Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

It's about critical assessment. Is your show shaping up the way it should be? Is it what you wanted it to be? What's missing? How do you fix what's missing?

The answers can be very detailed: What's missing? No map. Why? No one will make me one? WRONG. You are underskilled and don't know how to make one. Time to hit the books.

Most of lifes simple problems can be solved by dedication and hard work.

And of course, remember the old adage: If you want something done right, do it yourself. You can't rely on other people to help you. Because when you count on 30% contribution you will get 4%. Every mission critical role should ultimately be able to be done by yourself.

Where did I learn to think in this way? I tried and made mistakes. Mistakes are only failures if you don't learn from them.

Start you own show. Let it flop, and then sit back and say "What did I do wrong?" Than come back in 3 months and try it again. Do it again and again until it's right. Any noob in YSF that can take the heat from the kitchen and have the maturity to say "Criticism accepted, let's try again yeah?", will earn my respect hands down. Crow and VNAF didn't get good at running airshows overnight. Now Crow runs his own IRL air show announcing company, and he's hosted some pretty cool acts!

I think it would only be best for the Mahora Demo Team to make a presence. Going to need to get the Grun Members to Join in, since we don't have a full 4 man formation in the MDT.

I've got my Super Pitts in for a little bit more coloration, but it should be ready to go for Airfest.

Three thoughts from me ould be:

- Night Pyrotechnic & Firework Show w/ synced music for end of Saturday
- Hot Air Balloon Mass Flight (Either start of Saturday or Friday)
- Short Field Landing Competition with event-ready Piper aircraft (more fit for Fun Friday)

I hope these seem interesting to many of you! :)

Pretty much most people can do it, but that commitment part is the one that separates the willing from the able.
I just saw your post and I hope my "a little extra time" statement wasn't taken offensively. I know it takes more than just a "little" time. I was just trying to make the point that surely there is somebody with both the will and the means to carry on the tradition of YSF-based air shows.

If I had a network connection better than an F- on speedtest.net and a PC that doesn't sound like a turboprop when I have three windows open, I'd try to do a show myself.

Not sure if you got the memo or not but this will probably be the last airfest. It's going to be big.
