'X' Planes

Post by TwelvePointBuck » Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:41 am

I was wondering if someone could make most of the expierimental test planes they have here,
mainly:
X-15
X-43
X-38
X-36
X-11/X-12
X-5
X-6
X-7

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_X-planes

Thanks in advance.

Use the ysflight search engine because I've seen most of those in ysflight somewhere. They're all over the place.

Some of them do exist, and some of them do not. It's up to you to find them. If you really want an addon to be created, consider the modder who "might" be reading this. Provide him/her with the information they need:

Cross sections
3 way views
photos
maybe look around for pre built models? Use google and 3d warehouse

Not to bring in a lot of stigma from the other community...but please examine the resources of building and modding (after you've searched for the desired aircraft)...and attempt to do some of these on your own...then my son, ye shall see what is required. Its not easy, its time consuming, and few thanks are handed out. I really would like to see more try their hand and develop the appreciation for those that have paid the price to learn.

X-15 has been done, either as the original model from TMP, or Skipper's much improved version, although somebody will need to re-host Skipper's as he is off YS now.

X-5 might be interesting to see in YS.

X-6 will have to wait until somebody do a B-36 first.

I see little point with X-7 and X-43 as they are really designed for straight line flight to test new propulsion tech. Kinda boring to fly in YS.

X-11 and X-12 is more appropriate for OrbiterSim.

X-36 and X-38 is also interesting. X-36 reminds me of the recent XF-57 release here.

Thank you TF58 and kurosaki.

@kuro: I would make my own but my computer barely can handle YS and is low on memory. When i get my gaming computer set up in North Dakota i will mod my own aircraft.
