wait a minute those are hug elevation grids, right? Wouldnt big elevation grids affect drawing and cuase lag/fps drops?
Isnt it best to split the map in sections and into diffrent child sceneries?

Im asking becuase im not sure. YS 'only draws stuff within a 12m radius', so why would child sceneries be neccesary? Like does YS store the child sceneries in ram until your near? Or does it load the sceneries but keeps them 'invisible' till your near?
Either way I think nobody other than soji has properly used a parent/child system, again not sure
Im not doubting/criticizing what najmi has done. I like his commitment to the elevation grids

The problem with large elevation grids are that only a certain distance around the point at which it is being viewed will be visible. The result is that whatever is below the elevation grid will be visible.

I should code up a grid splitter... It shouldn't be too difficult actually!
Wouldn't that be awesome? Draw up a huge elevation grid, then just split it into many smaller grids.

That would be very useful.

I hope, you will code it in Python.

It'll most definitely be C#, .NET 4.0

actually the elevation grids are divided (like Taiwan's Hong Kong elevation grids)
each of it 1800m X 1800m and 10 x 10 grids
EDIT -- Sun May 21, 2017 11:30 pm --
-successfully integrated with main scenery

back again after almost a year

apparently had Singapore in bigger and inaccurate scale, and fixed as well as the southern edge of the peninsula (exported the map into .pc2 form and imported into mine,as both scenery had different editor version and I'm sticked to real stable version 2009)
the peninsula on both mine and Indonesia map merely the same (close enough,a bit larger, not too much)

I hate it when that happens, and when you're working with large areas it happens too often. Either the scale is a little off or the rotation is a little off. I had that problem with lots of maps.
