Conversion to the DC-8-62 serie

Post by lorDuckFeet »

Hi, as you may know i'm working on paintings of aircrafts made by OWL.

So I need someone to edit the model made by OWL (DC-8-43) and adjust/edit to the DC-8-62. The most important things are the fuselage and wings (If you want I can export the engines).
I want this because I have the paintings of the DC-8 61 and 63 (also the 71 and 73).

Here are some references that I could found:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_D ... _60_Series at DC-8 Series 62

More detailed specs: http://ialcargo.com/specs/dc8.pdf

If someone can attend this request I'll be very grateful and happy.

Maybe I'll try this, but I can say that will not be too accurate. Anyway I can add to my list of based fictitious aircrafts.

Edited!
Okay, I think that the conversion was successful.
Now I will start fixing the light positions, the cockpit, and the engine smooth.

If everything go well, start watching for more paintings.
And also, I've sent a couple minutes ago a PM to OWL regarding these editions and my previous and future works on his models. :)

looks like there are two general versions of the 60 series, the 61 and 62, in regards to visual/structual design
DC-8 Series 61 wrote: Having decided to stretch the DC-8, Douglas inserted a 240-inch (6.1 m) plug in the forward fuselage and a 200-inch (5.1 m) plug aft, taking overall length to 187 feet 4 inches (57.10 m)
DC-8 Series 62 wrote: It had a more modest stretch, two 40-inch (1.0 m) plugs fore and aft of the wing taking overall length to 157 feet 5 inches (47.98 m)~ 3 feet (0.91 m) wingtip extensions reduced drag and added fuel capacity, and Douglas redesigned the engine pods, extending the pylons and substituting new shorter and neater nacelles, all in the cause of drag reduction
Which one ya making?

Also im currently on a google rampage and found this:

OWL originally made the DC-8-43 and DC-8-61, Thank you very much BARRACUZ (finally I know the DC-8 series - Airliners.net link) so i'm using the -43 to make the -21, -32 and -33, not too accurate but also the -51 -52 -53 -54 and -55.
With your help I discovered that I need to look on the DC-8-63 (Airliners.net says: -63 Stretched, same length as -61 but with -62s improved wing and engine pods, long range).
Also NightRaven explained to me the basics editions on .dat file, that also I'll be apply. :)

Oh forgive my fault. I should rename this topic to the conversion of DC-8-62.
Due to my previous work on the DC-8-63, with landing gear and lights, as well simple doors, i've used as base to make the minor editions on the DC-8-62.

Again thanks, you made my day and weekend! :D
