the 332nd Commemorative fighter group

Post by skyller2s »

In light of recent events, im going foward with an Idea that I thought of during my skyfighter days. Ive decided to form the 332nd commemorative fighter squadron. The sole purpose of this squad is to inform, spread, and preserve the legacy of the Tuskegee airmen on Ys. Please note that this will not be a combat squadron, but rather a group of pilots who are at least mildly dedicated to the cause that I mentioned just now. So far the only member right now is me (thus why im in squad development) . I need some ideas on how to get this idea to take flight (no pun intended).

I'd like to help in any way if possible. There is a movie about them to come out in January actually called "Red Tails". If we could get some Mustangs painted up in some red tail schemes that'd be amazing. I like this idea. I also believe they flew another aircraft out of North Africa. The P-40 I think.

The MAC pack paints are pretty good, but the quality on that P-51B model is quite low. I think you could do better working from Taskforce 58's P-51B's from the Down in Flames pack.

well I have 4 to work with the one you mentioned is on the left but the prefered ones are the f-16 and the one on the right, the one in front is the best quality.

Since the 332nds primary mission was escorting B-17s to there targets.I think including a bomber in the formation would be appropriate for a commemoritive pass.Just my oppinion though. ;)

Aircraft operated:
Bell P-39 Airacobra, 1942–1944
Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, 1942–1944
Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, 1944
North American P-51 Mustang, 1944–1945

I think it would also be good if we had a custom tag that featured the 332nd patch

*major update*

heres a list of things we need to really get going

1. a private forum of ysfhq quite frankly I suck at making websites so I think i can make some arrangements to get a private forum where members can chat with one another and prospective pilots can apply

2.a recruitment ad this one i might make myself but if you have any ideas feel free to let me know

3.a regular server I might ask Iceman if we can barrow his for monthly events and such. im not sure if my laptop can power a server

3.established planes we have a choice of 4 iconic planes my preference is the f-16 and the p-51D from the MAC pack. this is because the are high quality, and able to be armed

4. signature tag or badge to let people know who is in the squadron.

im also open to an airshow team, If anybody would like to contribute please let me know

The design is good but I think you need to reduce it down a bit.
Check with Shutter or Waspe to see if it fits regulations for a signature.
Meanwhile I am going to do some research into there war time duty stations.

Well I am working on Ramitilli airbase the 332nds last combat station in Italy also found out that there primary airplane was the P-51B not the D model as is popularly believed. All photographic and film reels show the P-51B.They did not receive the P-51D until almost the end of the war. They flew the D in combat but no where near the amount we think. But in more than enough time to shoot down 3 of the 4 Me 262s they racked up.
There is no photographic evidence left of Ramitiilli except some modern aerial photos showing a vague outline of the main field so my imagination and some ground pict will have to do.Also later home.
