History
Dision founded SARF several years ago with a small team, creating four divisions: the Universal Peace Enforcement Organization, Neucom, General Resource and Ouroboros. Since then, SARF has gone through several phases of inactivity until very recently. Since December of 2016, SARF has grown into a sizeable force and continues to grow and develop. While its foundations are from several years ago, the squadron is still fairly young.
Infrastructure
SARF is divided into four divisions, UPEO, Neucom, General Resource and Ouroboros. Each (except Ouroboros) has a civil services unit, and all have military divisions. Each military division is composed of two tactical flights, one flight for each hemisphere in order to account for timezones. SARF utilizes a numerical XP ranking system. Contributing to the squadron earns pilots XP points. The more XP points they attain, the higher rank they achieve. The higher their rank, the more aircraft they have access to. This rank based aircraft progression allows pilots to learn on more limited aircraft first before continuing on to SARF's more advanced aircraft.
Research and Development / Aeronautical Analysis
SARF is home to several advanced aircraft modelers, with big names such as Zenuz (RythusOmega) and more. SARF was once home to many more advanced modelers such as DarknessOfEnigma, NightRaven and more. SARF is looking for new, experienced modelers to assist with the development of new aircraft and replacing aging aircraft models for the squadron's arsenal.
In addition to SARF's history of aircraft development comes a recent focus in aeronautical analysis headed by Neucom's Dr. Simon O. Cohen (fikrikawakibi). This program strives to improve the .dat files of SARF aircraft by attempting to bring balance with other squadron aircraft through empirical and quantitative analysis. SARF's analysis team is composed of actual aeronautical engineering students who are hard at work recording data from various aircraft. Data collected is then used to attempt to produce a better, more balanced and fun performance .dat file for aircraft. The program is still very new, so results will take time to refine through the scientific method. SARF welcomes any input that members might have and welcomes any direct help with the program to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
Armed Divisions
Universal Peace Enforcement Organization [UPEO]
The Universal Peace Enforcement Organization is SARF's primary frontline division which takes on a variety of roles. It uses a wide variety of aircraft from other divisions, but has several exclusives such as the EF-2000E Typhoon II and the Su-37U Superflanker.
SARF attempts to keep the UPEO's ranks very active, and inactive members may become replaced easily, with the inactive members transferred. UPEO is vital to the strategic and tactical requirements of SARF and is meant for pilots looking for an active frontline experience for learning and flying. Even though SARF values activity, it also values the real world.
General Resource Defense Force [GRDF]
The General Resource Defense Force focuses on firepower and stealth. GRDF carries mostly American aircraft, though it has a few experimental aircraft like the ADA-01B Adler, the F/A-18I Hornet ADV, and the F-22C Raptor II.
Neucom Emergency Unit [NEU]
Neucom's radical flagship designs, known as the R-Series, utilize unique aerodynamics and technologies. Neucom's dynamic aircraft skins allow for extreme high-speed and fuel efficiency, making their interception abilities very powerful.
Ouroboros [OURO]
Ouroboros is a transhumanist organization forming the backbone of SARF's covert and black operations. They are composed of SARF's elite pilots and have an advanced arsenal borrowing from Neucom and General Resource's aircraft. Ouroboros also operates SARF's airborne command center, which is known as the UI-4053 Sphyrna.
