Polygon Crest - Available Now!

What is Polygon Crest?
This program is a polygon editor. Maybe more commonly called a polygon modeler. You can call whichever comfortable for you. The main purpose is to build aircraft and ground visual models for YS FLIGHT SIMULATOR, but you can use it for making general polygonal models. If you make a correct solid model, you can export the data for 3D printing, for example. I wanted to make it easy to create aircraft models, so this program can quickly make a popular airfoils, and extrude along the wing leading and trailing edges. It also has basic boolean operations and rounding functions as well.

Version 20140716
[For Windows]
[For Linux]
[For MacOSX]
First release! Version 20140716. I wanted to add more features. But, if I wait until I finish all the features that I want to add, it's going to take infinity. I decided to make it open now. I'll keep developing and newer versions will be available.

- Bug fix: Boolean operation was failing if one of the models is a thin rectangular solid.
- Bug fix: Left and right arrows of the view-control dialog were reversed from mouse motion.
- Bug fix: F3 and F6 views were the same. F6 view is now 180 degrees from F3 view.
- Bug fix: Vertex attributes were not copied in Cut & Paste and Mirror Image.
- Bug fix: 3D UI corrupted if a large model (like 5000x5000x5000) is opened.
- Can edit DNM hierarchy.
- Added "Scale selection" in the Edit menu.
- Added "Invert selected polygons" in the Edit menu.
- Lights are drawn correctly in DNM-preview mode.
- Smooth-shading vertex and Self-lighting polygon are moved to Edit->Rendering option
- Can divide smooth-shading region by a constraint edge. (Menu in the Edit- >Rendring Option) This feature will be available in the next version of YSFLIGHT.
- Linux binaries are included in the MacOSX package.

Major change in the source code
Changed the background data structure for vertices and polygons in YsShell class. This change is to reduce the memory consumption in the 64-bit environment. Since a pointer takes 8 bytes, older VertexHandle and PolygonHandle, which were actually pointers, took double the amount of memory compared to the 32-bit binary. The handles takes only 4 bytes in the new code. However, the description like:
YsShellVertexHandle vtHd=nullptr; while (vtHd=shl.FindNextVertex(vtHd)) { }
is no longer valid. It needs to be written like:
YsShellVertexHandle vtHd=nullptr; while(nullptr!= (vtHd=shl.FindNextVertex(vtHd))) { }
so that the handle returned from FindNextVertex is explicitly compared against a nullptr (or NULL). Right now it still allows comparison between a handle and NULL, but I am thinking to allow comparison against only nullptr. But how to do it is questionable. I have over 600,000 lines of code that relies on YsShell class, and in many places I am comparing a handle against NULL. Simply replacing NULL with nullptr comes with a huge risk of unwanted consequence. What's even worse is the problem can be silently hidden like a time bomb. So, it won't be until I come up with a safe way of transition from NULL to nullptr.

Why doesn't this update show on his site? He only has a 03/29 version listed.

Bugs discovered in latest version (maybe for slower PC)
Bug 1. Too slow rendering of main screen
Think, find some bug in latest Linux binary (maybe in other too).
When I run PolygonCrest with default configuration its TOO SLOW!
Trick: to resolve this issue now after start You must at first go to "Menu --> View(V) --> Draw Vertex(V)" and uncheck this mark (disable Draw Vertex).
After that You can work with high speed.
ATTENTION: DO NOT SELECT MANY VERTEX SAME TIME! It will freeze your system!

Bug 2. Not show model in Preview mode
If you cant see your model after activation "Menu --> Dynamic Model(D)--> Preview", than try switch ON "Rotate Propeller" option in control dialog.

RegisterTouchWindow sounds like a Vista+ Feature, and you use XP right? There's your problem fishbulb.

No, I use Vista. I was thinking maybe it only works on Win7 forward.

Possibly. Can you go to Windows Features in vista and enable touchscreen compenents?

I'm not sure how I would do that. I found an option to turn features on or off, but nothing comes up in the window. More Vista problems, I guess.

Must be. I'm thinking of upgrading to 10 myself just because 7 is giving ME issues. (Chrome constantly having graphics crashes, same with YSF WhiteScreenOfDeath, Sound Issues...)

Honestly Windows 7 just can't handle my shit right now. The only downside is the huge amount of backing up I would need to do to get my computer back to being my primary workstation.

Chrome has graphics issues for me, too. Sometimes a page of text will load and only the capital letters show up.
Well, the window says "Please wait." I'll let you know if anything changes.

EDIT: I didn't find anything about touch screens. I have Vista 64 bit, and trying the 64 version gave a similar error.
