[PACK] Decaff's F-35s

Decaff_42's F-35 Pack

Image

36 Aircraft, 10 squadrons, 5 countries, 3 variants.

I've been working on this pack off and on for almost a year now. It's been an iterative process to refine the models and features I wanted, but now that everything is assembled and painted, I am pleased with the results. This pack has introduced me to some challenging animation work. The animated cockpit displays are the prototypes to the displays in my Boeing 747-8 Pack and where I first tried to spice up the traditionally boring cockpit. Some of the decals (especially the VFA-101 shown above) forced me to preserve details while minimizing vertex counts.

To use these aircraft to their full potential, I highly encourage you to read the User Guide. It will tell you important information about flying them, especially the STOVL aircraft. The different weapon configurations have different strengths and weaknesses, so it may take some time to learn the unique particularities of each variant and configuration.

I hope you enjoy flying them!

Original Model: CEP - By satoru (CEP 2-3)
Original Weapons: Some Weapons from BNI, flares from Oranleed (See LoM for details)
STOVL Lift Fan Door animation by NightRaven
Lockheed & JSF Decals by Zack
All modifications done by Decaff_42

I took a break from photo editing to stop by YSFHQ; now my editing is screeching to a halt. Awesome work, decaff_42! :D

I'll be installing these tonight. They should put you in charge of the JSF program!

You dear sir have won a cookie!

Gave them all a decent-ish test. I will have to say I am beyond impressed with the flight model, it's rather stable and easy to fly but it's still pretty agile. Weapons are superb, plenty to choose from depending on the plane and that's what I love to see. The nose gear doors are something I stared at for a while just extending and retracting them. All the animations are clean, especially on the B model.

The IAF variant by far is my favorite 8-)

All the doors and details are very clean with perfect placement. Can't even see the doors when they're closed, especially on the IAF camo, perfect shading!

Those nose gear doors :ugeek:

The STOVL was nothing short of amazing, mid flight transitions were smooth and almost hands off. Braking to a hover was also smooth, no pitch control issues and the plane almost flew itself.

Whew, don't know if I should have made such a long post but hey, it's deserved!

Well done Decaff ;)

Like all of your other works, outstanding job on these. Very, very cool, especially the paints and the flight panel displays.

"Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg...and my arm...even my fingers. The body I've lost...the comrades I've lost...won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there. You feel it too, don't you? I'm going to make them give back our past"
