Post by NajmiCreative » Fri Mar 20, 2015 7:56 am

actually,I already know the problem and I seperated the maingear empty and fuselage empty so it wouldn't make the error and it works....

Satisfied or not, I think all of us could agree that this masterpiece of an aircraft is done with a lot of effort put into it. And THAT alone deserves much appraisal.

I love the model and your work in general, Flash. But the cheatplane like dat in this one is the only thing keeping me from flying it.

An observation. We have gotten so used to sub par handling .dats that when someone actually gets one right its considered a cheat.

Idk. The aircraft might handle that in real life but the pilot certainly can't.

Maybe... But how do you define right in YS? There are so many interpretations of performance that some may find one particular dat good while others find it cheaty... Sort of like this situation :)

I'd give him a thumbs up for trying to create a realistic EF-2000 dat. Usually high detail aircraft have unrealistically poor performance, like Umaibow's F-15s barely breaching MACH 1.8, when it should be around MACH 2.5+,... and roughly the same for Whitewolf's F-14s.

I guess I might have been a bit to abrupt in my observation.I think we all know the YS needs to have a fair balance between performance characteristics and handling characteristic to get the best out of the physics engine that we have to work with.I think Flash got it right but we also know that modern fighters oft times can out preform its pilots so with out the benefit of computer controlled flight systems the real .dat seem like cheat planes.Get my meaning? In other word you have to cheat the .dats so as not to have it preform like a cheat plane.Fortunately GA airplanes do not have to be cheated for performance values.Did that make any sense to anyone besides me ;)

Just because your A380 can dive straight down and 700kts from FL600 in YSF doesn't mean you should do that on every landing. ;)

Well don't use the ATC in that case because it will direct you from FL600 to FL015 5 miles from the airport and expect you to slow to 150KTS from 700KTS.You will be one vary busy pilot for about a minute and a half before you make a big smoking hole in the ground ;)

True what you said about realistic aircraft seeming a touch cheaty, but when you're in something that turns like a brick(UMW's F-15), it's nice to at the very least out run your adversary... You civis got it good. =P

It is what it is. In reality the computers on the typhoon will kick in stopping you from ever exceeding 9G. In the older ones i think i heard something somewhere that if the stick were kept fully back for longer than a given period then the aircraft would allow even more than that up until the point that it would sense the precursors of a stall. As I said in the description, this has been trimmed up and flight tested by 2 actual Typhoon Pilots. By adjusting the DAT according to their feedback, it is about as close as you can get to the real thing. The major limitation is the physics within the game. I've had to dial the thrust back somewhere between 10% and 20% to match the acceleration and climb rate a bit better. Also, something that's not easy to demonstrate in YS due to physics once again, the typhoon burns literally an obscene amount of fuel when its flying at low level, its at its happiest at 30,000+

There is more that i could go on about but I'm not really at liberty to tell.

As for cheatplanes, the Tranche 3 mock up in the pack was made purely as a joke. Just to see how many missiles I could physically hang off the jet without overstepping the MTOW. Safe to say that set up would be a nightmare for everyone involved.

There you have it. He aimed to make this as realistic as possible, and I'm pretty sure he achieved that goal when it has gone through the real deal.

@Flasheart, sounds reasonable now. I just expected something like the limitations in Umi's F-15's, Gre's falcons, or the new mirage. But I guess blackout is enough to set the limits.
