That's what I thought.
At least that's what I've been doing when I setup strong crosswinds.

I guess building a rudder to go with it can't be that hard, right?
Trust me mate. I have been trying to make a knex (google it) rudder system since i started YSF (3 or4 yrs ago). So far I fail.
good luck tryig though, if you have a sucess, let me know.
I have a secret to tell you...

Welcome John! I've been addicted to FG for nearly a month now. About your yoke see: http://flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1956

I reposted this for YS here: http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1554

Sorry for reviving an old thread even more so because I haven't posted for more than one year.
It just happens that my baby daughter was born in July 2011 and I haven't had much time to have fun only on my own.
Now that summer vacations are here I thought that I could take the rusty 5-year-old laptop out of the closet and give YSF another go.
I am mostly interested in simulation. I like to do things on a PC as much close to reality as I can.
For that I was thinking that maybe I could fly from LAX to LIS, communicating with traffic control, etc.
From what I understand, there still isn't any world scenery (terrasync?) like there is in FG :(.
Big bummer. Is the developer working on it, or isn't it gonna happen?

So I am a bit puzzled: what do you guys do with YSF in multiplayer mode?
As I understand, you have virtual airlines. Those airlines must fly from A to B, right? Is there someone coordinating the air traffic? Does ATC work? Where can I get all this info?
I wouldn't mind to do some dog-fighting also but civilian is my preferred.
Thanks in advance to any tips you can give me.

Yeah, we do have ATC. There's a manual too. We use teamspeak, since you can voicechat on it, it's perfect for ATC. The pilot just fly's the plane while the ATC talks from teamspeak but keeps an eye on the plane from observer mode in YSFlight. You can use YSATC too but I don't know what that is or how it works.
