Hi there. I'm Panzerfire and I think some of the older members recall me from YS Pilots.

I'm from Aachen, Germany but currently living in San Juan, Argentina.

I like going fast and crashing hard (Which is probably I why you should stay away from me during online games). Nah I'm just kidding about the crashing hard part =P But I do love to blow sh*t up and burn stuff to the ground..... which is pretty much enough reason why I'm not allowned anything that could burst into flame or make an explosion. Nah I'm kidding again. I'm not that dangerous.

I'm also a anime/manga artist that focuses on military subjects. So fighters jets, tanks and assault rifles (Among many other things) are stuff that catch my interest. If anyone has an interest in checking my artwork, here's my blog in DeviantArt: http://www.panzerfire.deviantart.com. I'm a great Ace Combat fan even 'though I never get the chance to play Ace Combat (Got none of the "popular" gaming consoles and therefore none of the AC games).

So... I used to be part of the 171st as leader of the VFA-72 Stingers (Formely Skorpione) but several issues emerged on my life that forced me dedicate less and less time to YSF. As such it came I'm virtually MIA on the servers.
I do want to change that as I got more free time now. Not sure 'though if still a 171st but I'll have to talk about that with Bombcat.


Anyway, I'm making an account here as it seems like everyone is shifting from YS Pilots to YSFHQ. BTW... I've been on the dark for like a year.... can someone feed me in about why the change?

I'll try to join on the servers around weekends although I could also make some time during working days. 'Though I don't know how many people will be online during those days. No dogfighting 'though... My joystick has died (Actually it just works very badly... unable to fix) and DFing with the mouse is a pain in the @ss. I hope I can get a new one soon. I also got to update my YS Flight. Ever since the last version came up, a lot of the older mods seem to be incompatible with some features of the new version. So I have to install each mod again one by one and make sure everything is working properly, I'm tired of error messages.


Anyway. Just introducing myself to YSFHQ. Glad to see some new faces (names actually, I can't see your real faces =P ) as well as some old ones.

Dogfighting with a mouse is isnt that bad just lots of practice.

Now i know some will deny this, yes, Joystick is the most effective but practice makes perfect, though nobody is perfect.

As for why the change, yspilots became more about trolling and bullshit and all sorts of things and was kind of dying, so this place was needed, but ice can say more on the matter, it's his site.

Panzer, Once a Stinger ALWAYS a stinger. A few changes with VFA-72, I'm flight lead and would be more than happy to have you as a 2IC.
The Su-25UBP Frogfoot is our main bird, we also fly F/A-18F Super Hornet, F-35C Lightning II, Su-33UB Sea Flanker, F-4S Phantom II, Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 and F-14D Tomcat. But may be getting a Harrier GR7 soon and that would then be our main aircraft since it's faster, carries similar weapons than the SU-25 and has two guns of the same strength.

If you was looking to getting back into the command of a sub-squad VFA-201 is looking a bit slim and our naval helicopter sub-squad is inactive.

C-2 Greyhound Fleet logistical support aircraft.

Thank you all for the welcome. So YSP turned into a horrible trolling battlefield? Ahhhhh good thing I stayed out then. I can totally become an @sshole when there's trolling around the corner.

And cool stuff about the 171st. I'm loving the new planes and helos with all those details. 'Though it looks like a lot of gear. I've read in the "YSwiki" article that some of the subsquadrons are still inactive because they don't have enough active membership. Anyway Vandal, I'll check on you back later about joining back the VFA-72 as a pilot. I've decided that as leader I don't have the right stuff. =P Nah I just like to fly and bomb some stuff on the ground. The Harrier inclusion should be awesome.

Like I said earlier on, I hope I can get a joystick soon as I fly better that way. Actually I'm kinda wondering, should I get a stick joystick? Or a PS2/3 styled joystick for the PC?
Nah I'll decide that later on myself.

I'll see if I can get active again in the 171st forums but I'm afraid that my account may be buggy because once I comment in any topic, my account fails to report on any further replies to my email account. Which is frustrating as I don't want to be checking the forums everyday.

Panzer' it's great to have yo around again, buddy. Your choice of flight controls is entirely up to you - for ground attack, a mouse can be quite serviceable. We'll have some work to do getting you back up to speed, I imagine, but I'm looking forward to it.
Also, thanks again for that Tomcat artwork on DA. It's exactly what I wanted.

I'm glad you're still happy with it.

You'll be pleased to know that I got plans on doing similar artwork but with planes of the 171st. Perhaps some good quality air to air combat pics and some bombing runs as well. It's time I take another step in my aircraft pics.


Apart from that I got good news. I've digged among my old hardware and found the previous joystick that I replaced with this newer one that got broken. It feels a bit too loose but it's hanging there. After a little bit of calibrating I think I've got it working on a respectable level. So this weekend I'll see how it handles with bombing missions as well dogfights.

I gotta take the rust out my wings.
