I have to say that the Rafale is a bunch garbage. How do I know? I've flown it? Nope. I'm an engineer? Nope. I have secret data on the aircraft? Nope. How do I know? how many countries fly it? How many countries have the French tried to sell it to?

Hmm, I think they have been tried against each other. But I'm not sure of the results. I think they were pretty even.

Personally I think some super hornets international would be cool, since if India picked them, it might make other countries more open to listening to Boeing propositions when offered the f-35.

But let's not stray from the topic. This is an intro thread, keep it that way. Discussion like this belongs in aviation related, feel free to make a thread about the Indian competition. :)

There have been reports saying the Typhoon easily managed against the Rafale. Primarily due to the better thrust they said. I don't know whether these claims are true, but it seems more likely.

If God had wanted the army to fly, he would have made the sky brown.
If God meant man to fly, He'd have given us bigger wallets.
If God had meant for men to fly he would have made their bones hollow and not their heads.
