Hello Everyone (I have a dream...) :P

Post by Lux. »

Hello All,

Over the last few days I have been incorporated into a lot of groups very quick. So I just found this forum down here and thought, "Why don't I introduce myself to everyone?" So here I am. My real name is Luc "Lux" Piper, I was born in Ontairo, Canada almost exactly 34 years ago. When I was 16 on the day of my birthday I recieved my Private Pilots Licence the day of my birthday. I have always wanted to become a pilot and now I am currently fly Airbus's for Air Canada and I am a Senior Captain. I fly local flights in North-America only and am based out of Toronto Pearson. If you are ever flying with Air Canada let me know I might be flying. I started playing YSFlight in May 2012, but I also have X-Plane 9 and 10, also Flight Simulator 10, so I am very familiar with flight simulations. I host Hawaiian Airways Virtual TeamSpeak, and the VNAF Aerobatics TeamSpeak. I also host the VNAF Aerobatics YSFlight Server. I promise I will try my best to make the YSFlight VA's more realistic. (Including ATC, Procedures, etc...) I also will be helping out the YSF Airshow community because I have lots of new ideas for YS and I have and know real procedures for Airshows, Aerobatics, comms etc.... No matter what I do in the YSFlight community I promise I will give it my all, and I expect you will do it as well. I am a very easy-going guy. If you are ever have any questions or concerns about teamspeak, flying, or anything else you can think of, feel free to ask, I will always be happy to help.

Regards,
Lux.

Note* to all VA's out there if you want me to help you make your VA more realistic PM me, reply to this post, or e-mail me. Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Captain! ;)

I can't do nothing but wish you the best luck with that... I've tried something similar when I was in ATVA but I failed (I wrote a manual for basic navigation https://sites.google.com/site/davidebas ... ects=0&d=1 ). Now that I know there's someone else interested in a (really!) realistic flight experience in YS I think trying again is worth a shot. I have a family with a little son so I might not be available on a short notice, but I think you could use a hand.

Oh, I'll rain questions on you. ;)

Hey guys,

Just some replies to the comments. I think I've seen you flying around on servers too, lucas.
iqmal_97 if I am still on YSFlight when you get ready for your license PM me. If you're interested I'll help you if you need help.
DavideV fire away, I'll gladly reply to all the questions. If you want to chat with me sometime go on the VNAF Aerobatics TeamSpeak 3 server at 99.230.110.19:9898 and we can work together. I also have a busy schedule so let me know in advance when you go on teamspeak and I'll try my best to be there. Also, I looked at the manual you wrote before, the content has some things to work out but the wording and the way you wrote it was great.
Question for all of you, does anyone know how to get rid of distance lag? It would be very appreciated.

Regards,
Lux.

Note* It goes for everybody, if you want to chat with me go on the VNAF TeamSpeak at 99.230.110.19:9898
Note** Just to answer a question that I had was "What does VNAF Aero stand for?" it stands for Virtual National Academic Foundation of Aerobatics.

Distance lag on a YSF server or TS3? Typically, the faster the Internet the less lag on the server. My old server had .2 Mbps and as a result was very laggy with any more than 5 people. My new one has about 20mbps and is pretty much perfect for YSF with very little lag.

Hello Rambler,

I mean on YSFlight server. There is no obvious lag but when you fly tight formation, flight lead just sees you about 1/2 to 1 plane behind him. I have fast internet and everyone gets great frames on my server. It is just the distance lag for really tight formation. (Just a comment, when I say tight I mean like Blue Angels or Thunderbirds tight formation.)

Lux.

Somebody wanna enlighten me? We just made a forum for you guys and I can't tell who's running the show. If you guys can't agree on a name then okay, but are there two VNAF's?
And welcome to the forum.

Hello Shutter,

Sorry for the confusion. VNAF Aero is the shortest form of our name, VNAF Aerobatics is the most common form of our name, and Virtual National Academic Foundation of Aerobatics is the whole name written out. VNAF ONE runs the team, I am second or third, (I really don't know where) and Viper 1 if he decides to become active on our TS is a staff member as well.

Hello,

Recently since VNAF Aerobatics has been active, and since I joined I wondered what VNAF stood for. So I asked VNAF ONE and he told me that he did not know it just was a name. So then I said "We should create something that it stands for" (Not exactly what I said but along those lines). So we tried to come up with something and finally came up with Virtual National Academic Foundation of Aerobatics, then I thought since other people might have the same question I put that in this post.

Regards,
Lux.

I apologize for any confusion guys but I've decided to take on a more realistic name to the squad which is actually still wrong as Lux is saying it. It is supposed to be Virtual National Academy Foundation of Aerobatics. Basically taking on that name in the approach that VNAF is going to try to take a major role in teaching aerobatics (the right way) to the YS Flight community. I will change the wiki when I have more time but at this moment, I have a hell of a ton of work to do regarding changing name, information, logistics, and all that crap to get VNAF back to where it should be. As you can see things appear to be coming slowly but I assure you things are moving very quickly and you'll see a lot of things happening with us soon. Lux is third in command of VNAF but is taking on a large role as my Technical Officer/Event Specialist and is actually getting things done for us.
