I watched an episode of star trek not too long ago and I'm saddened to hear this. Death can be a horrible thing but in a way can also be a positive thing. That's how legends are made. Rest in peace Leo Nimoy.

I started watching Star Trek when I was very young. I am always surprised when he shows up without pointy ears in the old TV westerns. Nimoy, in my opinion, became a good actor some time during the first season of TOS.

His importance to Star Trek itself may be more important that some people think, considering that, even though they were set in the earlier time period, the two most recent Star Trek movies have actually been the continuation of Spock's work to reunite the Vulcan and Romulan people that started during TNG. His roll in the new movies might not have put him on screen very much, but it was very important.

I know almost nothing about his personal life, other than his love of taking pictures of people with no clothes. :lol: I'm sure they miss him for a lot more than a character he played on TV.

I remember as a kid in the late 50s seeing him in an scifi movie back then.Of course I had no clue to who he was at the time had only like 3-4 lines of dialogue I think it was THEM.Now a scifi classic feature.Its something when some one passes and these thing come back to your memory.

My parents didnt believe me when I told them ;__;

RIP spock :(

...this reminds me of that Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon gets a letter from Leonard Nimoy or something and exclaims how he finally has Leonard Nimoy's DNA and could make clones of him.

"I think about myself as like an ocean liner that's been going full speed for a long distance, and the captain pulls the throttle back all the way to 'stop,' but the ship doesn't stop immediately, does it? It has its own momentum and it keeps on going, and I'm very flattered that people are still finding me useful."

Leonard Nimoy
Never was a fan of Star Trek, but I definitely felt this loss.

He was an icon, to those who loved sci-fi and those who didnt.
Likely world record holder for restraining orders on hardcore nerds.
We never know what we've got till its gone.
