When planes replicas are made using Training aircraft

Post by jotaluc »

Several films that portray the second world war, mainly those made before CGI, used real planes in their scenes, some planes are easier to find, like the p40 or the spitfire, others there are few in operation, like the a6m2 zero, several studios are using train planes and making copies of real planes.

This plane is a texan t6 converted to a6m2 zero, many of it were used, the texan t6 really looks like zero in some aspects, like the radial engine, here we see that the cockpit canopy has been changed too

this is a Vultee BT-13 Valiant converted to an aichi d3, the BT-13 was used very little in combat by the united states, and because it was very manufactured (about 10 thousand) it was easily accessible, the vultee has some differences with the aichi d3, such as the landing gear, but the conversion was very reliable

here we have another texan t6, this time modified to look like a b5n, this modification was used a lot in the film tora tora tora!

And here, a T6 texan modified to look like a Dauntless in the series war and remeberance, and also, ba ba black sheep
