"Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum" (before 7th of February 2018 — "State Aviation Museum"; located near UKKJ airport in Kyiv, Ukraine) published it's first promo video with new little redesigned logo as watermark:

• training unit of National Aviation University (Kyiv, Ukraine);
• 62 airplanes and 18 helicopters;
• large green zone in only 10 minutes of drive from capital city center;
• #6 in the world rating of aviation museums;
• #5 on the TripAdvisor

Former CEO and founder of Southwest Airlines, Herb Kelleher, passed away last week. I got this video in my "suggested" videos on Youtube and being a fan of Southwest Airlines (and having read quite a bit about the guy himself), I wasted no time in checking it out. Keep in mind, this is from 1989, but a lot of the things described in the video about Southwest are still quite true even today (except for some things like 15 minute turn-arounds - today they're 1 hour). Not surprising!

30 years at a height. Interview with "Mriya" developers — the largest aircraft in the world

During the last 30 years, the Ukrainian airplane "Mriya" remains the largest aircraft in the world - An-225. It has a length of 84 meters, a wingspan of 88 meters. Can lift 250 tons of cargo. It set 240 world records.
In the world there are only two aircraft of this model. One operates on Antonov Airlines, carrying goods all over the world. The second one is unfinished, it is located in the shop of the Antonov company in Kyiv.
The command of the State Museum of Aviation named after O.K. Antonov was interviewed about the creating of the largest aircraft in history, showed in the workshop an unfinished AN-225. Leading designer of the AN-225 aircraft Mykola Kalashnikov and director of Antonov Airlines, Mykhailo Kharchenko, told about the peculiarities of the creation of "Mriya" and shared the impressions of the tangibility of creating the largest plane on the planet.

By the way, I'm so glad that the pilot safely ejected in the Snowbirds #5 crash in Atlanta yesterday! The aircraft is lost, but it fulfilled its ultimate mission that is to protect the life of the pilot. Job well done, Snowbirds #5 airplane! I don't know if the same airplane was assigned to #5 yesterday, but I anyway put Snowbirds #5 I took in Latrobe air show practice below.

The active duty 388th and Reserve 419th Fighter Wings conducted an F-35A Combat Power Exercise with 52 aircraft at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Jan. 6, 2020.
The exercise, which was planned for months, demonstrated their ability to employ a large force of F-35As – testing readiness in the areas of personnel accountability, aircraft generation, ground operations, flight operations, and combat capability against air and ground targets.
A little more than four years after receiving their first combat-coded F-35A Lightning II aircraft, Hill’s fighter wings have achieved full warfighting capability.

On January 24, 2020, the event devoted to installation of a model of the world biggest transport AN-225 Mriya was held at ICAO’s office in Montreal. This model in scale of 1:50 (wing span of more than 1.7 m) was produced at ANTONOV Company and presented by Ukrainian delegation, including H.E. Andriy Shevchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Canada, and Volodymyr Isaenko, Rector of National Aviation University. ANTONOV Company was represented by Mykhailo Kharchenko, director of ANTONOV Company’s air transport subdivision, who was a member of the AN-225 first crew. Nowadays, he is a head of the airlines operating Mriya.

In his speech Mr. Kharchenko noted: «ANTONOV Company is very proud of our close cooperation with ICAO and always have paid great attention to flight safety. One of the proofs of our team`s efforts in this direction is ICAO`s Edward Warner Award granted to our former General Designer Petro Balabuyev. I would like to note, that we are constantly working on our fleet upgrade to provide our airplane`s compliance with ICAO`s requirements. Moreover, we are restructuring our company in accordance with ICAO recommendations. That allows ANTONOV`s giants to continue performing unique transportations worldwide.

We are very proud that starting from today a model of the world-known largest cargo airplane AN-225, which is still unsurpassed achievement of the aviation industry, would be presented at ICAO`s office».

On the same day the ICAO museum was named after Olumuywa Benard Aliu, former President of the Council of ICAO.

Jetman Dubai Takeoff

On Friday, February 14th, 2020: #Jetman Vince Reffet took off, headed south towards Jumeirah Beach Residence, building speed and height. In 8 seconds he had reached 100 meters height, in 12 seconds 200m, 19 seconds 500m, and reached 1000m in 30 seconds at an average speed of 130 knots. At the end of a 3-minute flight punctuated by a roll and a loop at 1800m altitude, Jetman Vince Reffet opened his parachute at 1500m before landing back at Skydive Dubai.

It is the first time that a #JetmanDubai pilot could combine hovering safely at a limited altitude and flying aerobatics at high altitude in the same flight. Controlled from the ground by the human body, the equipment enables Jetman Dubai to reach speeds of 400kmh, as well as hovering, changing direction and performing loops.

Held under the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, #Expo2020 will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, region since the first edition in London in 1851. UAE prepares to welcome 192 nations and millions of global visitors for Expo 2020 Dubai from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
