Shame it's not a flyable sim, would be nice to play, although probably horrendous to run.

I know all of you hate the F-35, but the first production F-35A takes flight.

I personally don't mind the LIghtning II, but I just don't like the fact it's a light fighter replacing practically everything here in the RAAF; the only other fighter we'll have is the Growler.

Also not a fan of the lightning at all given what it represents for our airforce, but it's still kinda cool.

I don't like it either, but I'm oddly happy it's now in production.

The fact that it will be used as the main fighter in many places is concerning.

The F-16 is the frontline fighter of many more countries than those purchasing the F-35.

But the F-16 is faster, and as manoeuvrable. Also, I thought it was under flight testing.

The F-16 was a gimmick to save General Dynamics. It was as poor a choice as the F-35 was.

Can't bothered arguing right now seeing as I stayed up until 5:30am doing homework, but the F-35 is on par, if not superior to the F-16 in agility. Top speed on the F-35 should just about match the F-16 too as at the moment the F-135 engine is suffering from an acoustic problem preventing it from reaching top thrust, once that's fixed I wouldn't be surprised to see the M1.6+ figure pushed back up to M1.8+
Just also note that supercruise is defined as non-AB flight at over M1.5; currently the F-35 does M1.3 without AB.

I don't like that they want to replace so many existing USAF aircraft with two overestimated hunks of money. Don't get me wrong I do like the Lightning II but it's a little overrated. I wouldn't be surprised to see it turn out like some other programs of the usaf in the past however this is more expensive and more widespread. The plane is cool though and I would love to have a model like the one in the vid as an addon in ys. ;)

Indeed the current ones that are high quality are kinda....er....seem to fat for the F-35.

This is a DACT engagement between a Danish F-16 and an Italian Eurofighter. This shows two engagements between the two. In the second one, the F-16 made 2 gun kills. The pilot said the Falcon's manuverability is better than the Typhoon is in lower speed envelope.

I got a nice laugh from this one.

I found this WWII instructional video on the Hellcat back in February and thought it was fascinating (this is part 1):
