You sure it wasn't an Army -60 out of Ft Polk? The USAF doesn't have Blackhawks close to Louisiana. Florida is the closest, I think.

I've been watching H-3's fly by all day. I don't know why they're not out in Iowa supporting POTUS.

Maybe. Flew RIGHT over. Never had a chance to catch the markings.

2 F-18's flew over my house heading south. Couldnt see to good but I was pretty sure I could see a Royal Canadian Air Force symbol on the nose. Most likely came over Lake Erie from Canada.

UH-60 flew over earlier followed by another 5-10 minutes later. They had fueltanks on them, most likely came from Germany, no idea why.

[EDIT] Another two came over 2 hours ago.

1 unidentified jet aircraft flew over my school today. Engines not on full AB*. I'm not sure whether it was a Su-30MKM, a MiG-29N,a F/a-18D Hornet or even a non-AfterBurner Bae Hawk..

All I could hear was the roar of mighty jet engine nearly at rest. And twas AWESOME.

*unfortunately ;)

The polling place I was assigned to was right under the approach to 1R and 1C at KIAD, so I just sat there on my phone on FlightAware and checking out arrivals. I'm convinced I saw an Avanti, but FlightAware didn't show it.

Chinook just outside the city centre. Apparently happens every couple of months. Fly in, land/pretend to land on some school fields, then go off again.

Yesterday I saw two 737's RIGHT next to each other in the air taking off, then I saw them turning different directions, and a cessna coming in behind them. It was very odd. And then because of the hurricane situation on the east coast, they're going to evacuate a BUNCH of military aircraft to Louisville, so I'll be in for a good time ;)

I'm very jealous. Anecdote: My friend's dad knows the commander of the 82nd down at Tyndal and got his fini-flight in a QF-4 immediately prior to his retirement ceremony there on the flightline. The friend is at the Academy and might get a flight over Spring Break.
