Wow. How many are out there? An acquaintance of mine just came back from overseas. But the NG C130s stayed over with the California ones too.KM6BZH wrote:The one I see is probable California Air National Guard stationed at KNUQ. They are really loud and disturbs my algebra class
Anywho this beautiful fella landed last week but was busy clearing for him so couldn't snap a pic of it landing.

Re: Aircraft you spotted today
- 3 Beechcraft Super King Air 350s
- About a dozen Cessna Citations (Sovereigns, IIIs, Vs and possibly a X)
- Some Westwind 24s
- A Gulfstream I
- Some King Air 90s
- A Bombardier Challenger 300
- A Falcon 7
- Several Learjets (45XRs and 75s)
- An Embraer Phenom 100
- Some Pilatus Turbos
- Some TBMs
- A couple Piaggio Avantis
- Several more smaller aircraft like Mooneys, Pipers, a couple 172s thrown in just for kicks (ok, not just for kicks, they came in for the OU-Ohio State game but you get the idea)
To add to the excitement, a storm went up northwest of Norman and started putting out plenty of CGs. To say it was awesome just standing outside with aircraft landing and bolts of lightning in the distance would be an understatement. When I left OUN to go back home, there were about 30 or so business aviation aircraft of all shapes, sizes and ranges sitting on the ramp in front of the terminal and on the secondary ramp to the southwest of the terminal (well over a billion dollars of aviation I saw up close and personal). They had to move all of the OU Flight School Piper Warriors and Cessnas into hangars (I presume) to make way for all of the arriving jets and props. On my way back home (I live about 10 minutes from the airport), I was still seeing aircraft arriving over the city. What a great day!

Near the industrial center:

Re: Aircraft you spotted today
I usually whip out my phone too late, so I just enjoy the planes flying over.
Went to college to meet up with friends for lunch, spotted:
X2 Firefly ATRs
X1 Raya Airways 757 (Might have been the same one I spotted some time ago)
X1 C130 (I reckon it's RMAF but I was driving home and couldn't spot markings)
Triggered easily, do not startle

I guess it could be F-104...KM6BZH wrote:Also, there was an aircraft which looked like Mirage F-1, but there should be no Mirages flying in California...

Saw this Chinook later flying with the Singapore flag hanging from its fuselage.
+ 6x F-15SGs taking off from Paya Lebar Air Base for the parade rehearsal. Too far away for a decent shot tho

Re: Aircraft you spotted today
Both the British Airways & Virgin Atlantic jets were heading out to London.
Really cool to spot this TAM jet, glad I caught it at the time I did.
On the other hand, just a few days ago I'd spotted what seems to be a UH-1 over my house. It was coming in and then dropping altitude, just on the other side of the treeline, and then taking off again and heading out the direction it came. It did this about 3-4 times throughout the day, and I've yet to figure out what the reason was. I live about a minute away from Indianapolis Regional, so this was a pretty unusual sight for this area.
