Aircraft you spotted today

Post by Neil »

From YSP, thought it would be good to have here. Just managed to see a BAe 125 on final to RAF Northolt and a BAe 146 passing low over the house. Quieter than usual.
At first I used to get angry, now I try to be amused.

The PA ANG has already flown some sorties with their KC-135's today.

In other news: for the AFC championship, the F-15's flew right over my apartment.

SUPER HORNET!

Got a call from awhole lotta' buddies today saying there was a Hornet flying around town. I drove 20 miles out to the airport to snap some pics.

This is "Canyon 402" from VFA-105 "Gunslingers" out of NAS Oceana, VA.

Just my usuall Chinook heading Afganistan. No really my town is an RAF heli turning point. 5 FT above my house they come.
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

A lone Chinook going on its own to Afghanistan?!? O_o I'd think they get transported by a C-17 or C-5, it wouldn't make it on its own. Back on topic, just some regular Cessna traffic here and there.

The only time I've ever spotted a military aircraft outside of an airshow was a CF-18 patrolling during the 2010 Olympics here...
That's what I get for living in Canada I guess. (Peace is awesome)

(I saw a C-17 at HNL once, but that doesn't count)

Popped down to Lakenheath today after finishing school early. When I arrived there was a mass launch of about 25 F-15's. 8-)

Nothing terrible interesting, but for 2 Fridays in a row, the 737-800 from Brisbane break down at our airport; it was meant to depart at about 7:30, but ended up staying the night on our tarmac.

C-141 out of Yeager flying tree tops w/cargo door down I have no idea why.
Scared the crap out of me and everybody else.
I could see the cargo master at the door.
The only time I see anything worth mentioning and I dont have a camera.
Maybe 100' over my apartment.

An Islander AL.1 landing at Northolt and a Gulfstream taking off later.
